feels like im always recovering. when do i get to live
"it's okay to rest for as long as you need from burnout" how long is it actually going to take though. there's stuff i wanna do.
Write whatever you want. Write that incredibly niche thing that only two other people on earth will get. Write the super indulgent cliche thing that makes you kick your feet giddily. Write the angry rage story that whumps them all and makes people cry.
Whatever it is that YOU want to write. Write it. Because only YOU can.
Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.
I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.
Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
Fandom is not social media.
Fandom is not trends.
Fandom is a cross between a library and having a slumber party with your friends.
"Old" means nothing to fic.
for the love of god
so shy all of a sudden..
There are gonna be people who won't like hearing this but if you want to live in a world where mixed marriages, families, and adoptions (particularly POC adopting outside their "race") aren't maligned and discriminated against, then you have got to get more chill about seeing someone partaking in something cultural that you don't think fits the "race" you perceive them as.
It's a vague memory now, it was a vague memory even at the time I made this post, but I think what sparked this was remembering stupid comments I saw about a Chinese-American cookbook that were complaining about it being written by a white woman and then I looked the white woman up and the briefest research showed she was adopted as a child into a Chinese-American family and just....
*pinches nose*
Fellas, is it cultural appropriation to inherit your family's culture but you don't pass the blood quantum test?
All of you are literally just racist. You've come full-circle. You're working under the belief that people are supposed to "keep to their own kind" and that means the socially invented concept of "race", and "race mixing" of any sort is unnatural.
What discussing Cultural Appropriation was supposed to be about: why does Cheryl get to wear Dreads to work but Tyrone doesnât?
What it became: Segregation 2 electric boogaloo
Help Iâve reread Beast 3x this week what is wrong with me.
âWhile many people think fanfiction is about inserting sex into texts (like Tolkienâs) where it doesnât belong, Brancher sees it differently: âI was desperate to read about sex that included great friendship; I was repurposing Tolkienâs text in order to do that. It wasnât that friendship needed to be sexualized, it was that erotica needed to be ⊠friendship-ized.â Many fanfiction writers write about sex in conjunction with beloved texts and characters not because they think those texts are incomplete, but because theyâre looking for stories where sex is profound and meaningful. This is part of what makes fan fiction different from pornography: unlike pornography, fanfic features characters we already care deeply about, and who tend to already have long-standing and complex relationships with each other. Itâs a genre of sexual subjectification: the very opposite of objectification. Itâs benefits with friendship.â

Someone put it into words. I gotta sit down
(Why does this belong on my decidedly not-fan-fiction-related blog, you ask? Because this quote illustrates very well how assuming that anything where people put sex in it is debasing it, objectifying it, or simply âsexualizingâ it, etc. often misses a lot of the real picture of why people do that thing.)
Idea for you to consider (if this wasn't brought up before) -
Barbatos and Ophir adopting Atsushi.
I just think it would be like a pile of cats cuddling and helping each other with their traumas.
(Or is that how you do them + Selene?)
Now i cant stop thinking abt supernova adopting atsushi, thank you
Selene is now his awkward uncle
>Realized Iâve never drawn a tiger before
>been rereading the bsd manga too
âŠanyway hereâs literally the best piece of art iâve ever done because Iâm a sucker for Byakko <3
RANPO MAKES ATSUSHI PIGGYBACK HIM IM DYING OF LAUGHTER HAHAHAH
thats such a ranpo thing to do and its such an atushi thing to just say yes to it. this is hilarious.
it's crazy how this scene happens in the same episode of like this whole complicated murder thing and a guy who can just erase evidence; the mood switches and random humor breaks are so awesome.
trans mushi propaganda
"it's just stress" oh thank god, it's just the silent killer that slowly kills you, perfectly harmless, no need to worry
The hc of Atsushi owning a slow outdated phone will never not be funny to me. But whatâs even funnier is him stealing Akutagawaâs phone to download games on it because his own phone doesnât have enough storage and canât handle more than two games. So theres a page of normal apps like mail, messages, calendar, etc. and then another page full of cooking and organizing games and Akutagawa doesnât have the heart to delete any of them. He tries to get Atsushi a new phone so he doesnât have to steal Akutagawaâs all the time but Atsushi ends up using Akutagawaâs anyways
"You did good, tiger."
set in the BEAST universe - in which Atsushi sometimes has a hard time turning back when he's been fighting in tiger form for too long.
read right to left
i think about this scene in beast often
