It's really hard for me to go back to drawing. Procrastination is my biggest enemy right now, the second my mental exhaustion. BUT!!! I WANT TO TRY! So send me some suggestions, pretty please? I will draw it as long as it's not furry and mecha (I'm shit at both). And I can't promise any quality (I really don't know when was the last time I was drawing anything beside doodles for my toddler).

I haven't drawn in months. Honestly I forgot how to do it. It's so difficult and frustrating. Where should I start to get the feel for drawing back? It's seriously like I lost all my skills and it sucks.

Hello my love, my sweet! I think what helps me most is to stop thinking about making something good, or even complete, and to just doodle.

Try to have fun again! Remember that it doesn’t have to look nice, sometimes just putting lines or scribbles on a page is enjoyable in the moment even if the result isn’t amazing.

Something that helps me in particular is drawing stuff I don’t usually draw so I separate myself from these expectations I unconsciously set for myself re: what my art should look like. Maybe doodle little objects around the house, or a funny looking plant you saw. Draw a stupid abstract face (I’ll send you some of my mom’s recent doodles) or just make some shapes on a page. Paint like a five year old with your fingers, be mindless and free with it!

Once you take the pressure off yourself and start having fun, you might feel your mind opening and end up draw something really cool! And if you don’t, well it’s still practice and if you’re enjoying yourself, that matters more than anything (in my opinion). At some point you’ll shake the cobwebs off again, I promise. You haven’t lost your skills, you just need to get back into the groove again!

I’ll be doing exactly this in a few days when my term is finally over, I’m 100% there with you. Maybe sharing our scribbles will spark something for you again too ❤️
