Me and other pronouns
She/Her, give me yours and I'll be happy to use them.
Thought I'd make a little intro thingy, so here it is.
Something that has been on my mind a lot lately is bad media takes and how they can negatively effect discourse. To be clear I'm not talking about takes I disagree with. It can be a lot of fun and useful to discuss different interpretations of the same material. It can lead to better understanding and better artistic choices in the future. Bad takes, however, don't invite discussion, they attempt to stifle it. Only agreement is acceptable to bad critics. Even the slightest push back on their personal take on a piece of media is characterized as a personal attack. Yet, at the same time, talking about them as a person will have them crying: "you just didn't like my video about your favorite show." These responses are both designed to end or derail conversations.
Speaking of that, I plan to focus on mostly media takes either in videos or on social media and not so much any allegations or outside drama where I can. I am not trained in an area where my knowledge can help, I don't have access to all the evidence and I don't have personal experience with either the people involved or often even with similar events. I do have some media and writing knowledge, however, so Imma stick to my lane. I can't say I'll never mention anything, if they are in a vid or on media it may be relevant, but it's not my focus. Most of the allegations are very serious in nature and deserve a finer approach then I could bring.
I promise to be honest in what I present and will be as transparent about my sources as I can be. In the case of Lily Orchard, I've already been blocked on tumblr so screenshots are going to have to do. If she deletes a post please feel free to point that out and I'll note it or remove that post.
