“No, no your’e right,” Marlene nodded, feeling slightly abashed, “It wouldn’t make any sense. Greenhouses are supposed to be warm any way.” Sometimes she couldn’t help herself from rambling, saying whatever thoughts came into her head whether or not they made sense. It did tend to be a little more pronounced around other girls. Like she just needed to talk to escape whatever awkwardness she was feeling.
That made sense, “Have you ever tried playing music to them?” She asked. Apparently the daft rambling nonsense wasn’t completely done. Or at least silly questions, “It’s been alright, looking forward to Halloween. What about you?”
Percy smiled again, nodding. “I have actually! There’s one house plant that especially likes jazz, so I like to keep music playing in the common room as much as I can so they can groove and be happy even when there isn’t anybody there. I know that plants grow better with classical music playing, music like hard rock actually discourages growth. Isn’t that interesting?” Percy realized she was starting to go off and cleared her throat, abruptly stopping herself from continuing to talk about plant research and boring the other girl. “Oh I’m very excited for Halloween! I enjoy it a lot, I’ve always loved dressing up in costumes and such even as a kid! The lore around Halloween is fascinating as well. What do you like about it?”
