dunno if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I think that videos that do nothing but recap a tv show with little to no actual critical analysis for like five hours are as close to worthless as a piece of art can be. If I'm not gaining anything more than I would get from reading the wiki then what's even the point man
on top of that, it's just a really roundabout way to make money off of other people's work y'know? like obviously people can talk about media, but when someone just explains all the things that happen in a show, even if they're using their own words and not just playing every episode, doesn't it just replace the experience of watching it?
It's hard to articulate the nuance, but I guess it's like if someone is explaining how something made them feel and using the events of the story for structure and/or context then that's one thing. Doing that makes it their story. But if it's just a factual recount then they are telling you someone else's story. Quentin Reviews and other people like him are making buttloads of money by putting in a little effort to present you something other people worked a hundred times harder to actually make. And that's kinda fucked?
