Not for nothing but I grew up listening to Elvis, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Three Dog Night, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Chicago. Those werent my era. Those were my parents'.

I watched the movies my parents watched. Read the books my parents did. I had time for my own things too-- read Animorphs and watched anime and listened to N'Sync. But I also read Stephen King and watched MASH.

I know what an 8 track is. BetaMax. Vinyl, before its comeback. I know because I was close with my parents and we talked about their childhoods and they shared the things they loved with me.

If the next generation does not know what we had in the 90s and 00s growing up its because you did. not. teach them. Which is unexcusable. You know that saying old people are a library-- its not hyperbole. We are archives of our eras and if we dont share what we knew, what we felt, what we saw, it passes into a mist of the forgotten. It may be refound of course, but there's a disconnect between the generations.

Do not let the opportunity to reconnect slip by. Grasp it tight and share what you love with your young ones.
