I just??? love jake peralta??? I love everything about him I love his big-wide smiles and his nervous giggles and the way he scrunches up his nose and I love how his hands fiddle with his police badge when he’s anxious and I love his messy curly hair and I love his big nose and toothy grin and how chill he always is with giving both men and women hugs, and I love how he has a tendency to perch himself on everyone’s desks and I love how his breath catches when his feelings are hurt, how he ducks his head down, how emotionally honest he is despite claiming to be bad with serious feelings. I love how he’s still sometimes almost boyishly innocent, street smart in many ways but also not at all in many others, I love how half the scrapes he gets into are because he tries to do something nice for a friend and it backfires on him, I love that despite the fact that he has trust issues he still loves people unashamedly and with his whole heart, I love his big brown bambi eyes and the lil pudge in his tummy and I love his beat up sneakers and rumpled plaid shirts and how he looks almost close to tears when he meets his goddaughter for the first time and I love how he’s always ready to learn if he messes up, always willing to apologize for his mistakes even when apologies are unnecessary or unexpected. I love how angry he gets when undeserving people are disrespected or mistreated, how important justice is to him on a fundamental level, even if doing the right thing means he himself gets hurt, and I love how happy he is to literally jump into terrys arms, and I love how respectful he is of his friends’ emotions and feelings, and I love how soft and gentle his smiles and looks and touches can be and how careful he is when things are important to him and how his life is a bit of a mess in so many ways but he still tries so hard, to do Better, to get it right, and I love the unbridled excitement that he always carries around with him and I love his expressive eyebrows and the way his eyelids flutter when amy kisses him and I just love everything about jake peralta so much thank u have an nice day
and I love his goddamn mail tub and the way he starts randomly singing about stuff he’s doing and how he blurts out long strings of run on words or mutters things under his breath and I love how sometimes his voice cracks when he’s nervous and I love how highkey in love he is with amy santiago and I love how he stupidly pronounces normal words weirdly, like says “smort” and “noice”, I love how he’s so clever and genuinely smart and yet struggles with academic or traditionally ~~intellectual~~ pursuits, I love his ten massage chairs and the fact that he goes out for dinner with his best friend and how excited he gets when he realizes capt holts middle name is jacob, and speaking of I love how he goes “ raymond jacob holt!” and does finger guns in that one scene, and I love the dopey grin on his face when amy holds his hand, and I love his dumb die hard poster and the fact that he watches nature documentaries in his pajamas and I love the way he says “aw” and I love dumb old car and the fact that he sold said car to be responsible and I love his never ending Debt Crisis and I love how much he looks up to capt holt and I love how lowkey in awe of rosa he is and I need to stop now I’m so sorry
