Indispensability of Meditation

When you sit for meditation, you are confronted directly with your path. 

Whatever obstacles arise will make clear to you what challenges you are facing. Even in the turmoil you thus gain clarity. 

Meditation directs your focus beyond the bullshit. It cuts through the beliefs to which we cling. It cuts through the identities to which we have grown accustomed. It cuts through our ideas of the way things should be to discover the reality of what truly is. 

Consciousness is like a window that we have been looking through for so long that we forget to actually notice the glass through which we are looking. 

The only thing we have ever experienced is our body. The body shows us a world as interpreted through the brain. But to whom is this whole appearance presenting itself? What is that awareness existing before the world, before the body, before the brain?

It is something. Yet if you do not sit in silence and stillness, you will continually overlook that subtle marvel. 

It is the abode of reality characterized by Being, Consciousness, and Bliss. 

Meditate.

I was in the hospital a few weeks ago because I was feeling suicidal, and they released me on some new meds that were making me feel FANTASTIC. I haven’t felt this UNdepressed in a very long time. They even gave me some klonopin for my anxiety, a rare thing for me because I’m on suboxone…
