i think i realize the issue with you.

i’ve loved you for so long i can’t see the cruel part of you as part of you. i see it as a different person. you are the kind, brilliant, loving, and beautiful soul i fell in love with. you are not the careless, selfish, hateful version of you. that version of you shows up, hurts me, and leaves the first version to pick up the pieces the cruel you left behind.

they are the same person, the same you, and i have to remind myself over and over again. you hurt me, not some stranger wearing your face.

hi there! random question, did you get told who was fostering you before, or did you just sort of show up?

okay so, normally your social worker gets into contact with you, and tells you about a few days or weeks in advance about it. sometimes when someone’s considering fostering you, they let you know (sometimes that falls through though). and then there’s an intake day scheduled, and your social worker will drive you, stay for all the signing (there’s a lot of documents involved each and every time you change placements), and a tour. for some places, they schedule an overnight for you to stay over for one night a week or so before your actual intake. this is a precautionary, and in emergency cases, usually they skip the overnight. i had a choice about my placement once, and i had to meet them both over a call, and then i had three days to decide which placement fit me better. however, in emergency cases, everything is very last minute, and you do kind of just show up.
