the citizens follow you with their eyes. No matter where you go, if your driving a car down the streets of Beetletown, kids and their parents walking on the sidewalk will fellow you with their eyes. If your walking to down the street, to the local Cornor store, men will look up from their news paper, stop watering their lawns, just to stare at you until your out of site.
Beetletown has an astonishing number of churches. A big Catholic Church where most people congregate. But also numerous pobunk, decrepit chapels all throughout the town. Down every avenue. Mostly Christian and fundamentalist but also Wiccan churches and satanic churches hid in plan site.
All the road signs are wooden and painted. Ancient and damaged.
The people too. There are few kids in town, few teenagers, mostly it’s old timers waiting out the clock. And waiting. Waiting. People never die in beetle town.
Disappear, sure. People disappear all the time. Then they come back, walking out of the woods. A little bit different each time. A little less...alive. But hey, they come back.
There is one school in beetle town. St. Gregory’s School for Youth. K-12. Offers apprenticeships. Forget college. What’s college?
Class sizes are tiny. 10, 12, 15 students per grade. 100 percent graduation rate. Cirreculum...unchanllening to say the least.
School lunches are... radioactive. Eat them at your own risk.
Actually, don’t eat the food in beetletown unless you grow itself. And produce the compost yourself. The soil is toxic.
Everyone is adapt. Extra falinages, 70/20 eyesite and hydrocephaly and all. Perfectly adapted.
Church is in session every night. What else is there to do?
No one ever moves in. Sure, new people arrive but they aren’t outsiders. And besides, no one ever really notices. You wake up with an extra kid, who cares.
This town is just like every other small town in America. Absolutely nothing strange occurs.
