Twst Family Members: Meleanor Draconia (pt2) - Meleanor's Power
Malleus says that both his grandmother and mother “were said to have possessed incredible power,” and Lilia says Meleanor was “so powerful, the rest of us combined wouldn’t stand a chance against her. If we take too long, she’ll call lightning bolts down on our heads or burn us to a crisp with her fire breath. And for the record, I’m not joking. She’d do it in a heartbeat.”
We see this happen on screen later in Lilia’s dream where Lilia and his troops reunite with Meleanor at Castle Wildrose and she welcomes them with insults and lighting bolts.
Noticing the humans of the group, after they introduce themselves Meleanor magically forces them to their knees for speaking out of turn and making eye contact with her (“That is the height of disrespect. Kneel”), while Sebek struggles to breathe beneath her spell.
(note: while the novel and game are not canon to one another, what we see happen to Sebek in this scene might seem a little reminiscent of what Malleus does to Yuuya in the Savanaclaw novel 👀 Translated here ▶︎)
When Lilia happens upon fae children who tells him that they want to protect their family, friends, and Lady Meleanor, Lilia responds, “I don’t think she needs your protection…”
Meleanor also seems to summon and teleport via green flames, similar to Malleus.
Lilia says that, while Meleanor is powerful, she is not invincible, but she still insists on sending the wounded troops away to confront the invading army on her own, as she “might inadvertently incinerate” her own guards.
When Meleanor appears before the invaders the Dawn Knight observes, “the weather is changing…”
During the battle and after what seems to be a violent shaking of the earth Sebek asks what is happening and Lilia responds that it is Lady Meleanor that is happening, with her magic sending the Dawn Knight into an underground waterway beneath her castle.
A member of the invading army comments that they would have been roasted inside their armor by Meleanor’s flames if it had not been for the protection of wizards fighting on their side. While escaping from the battle, lightning strikes a tree in front of Grim and Silver says that Lady Meleanor “must be fighting hard” to keep the enemy engaged.
After the group reunites Sebek says that the weather is worsening to the point that he can barely keep his eyes open and Lilia responds that the land is resonating with Meleanor’s anger.
While the group flees to Castle Blackscale a bridge connecting to Mount Dread collapses and Lilia observes, “at least now the humans won’t be chasing us,” while an earthquake then causes a rockslide that destroys the path they took to Maleficia.
While both are likely results of the land “resonating with the dragon’s anger,” it is not confirmed if the increased protection provided to Castle Blackscale by the rockslide and collapsed bridge was coincidental or intentional: possibly Meleanor’s final efforts to protect her family and home from the invading force?
Does lilia use use any unique pronounce?
He speaks differently from other characters but i cant put my finger on what it is lol
Hello hello, thank you for this question! 🦇
Here is a list of character pronouns! :>
And here is an explanation!
School-Lilia uses “Washi,” which is generally associated with older men in both casual and more formal situations, and often used in fiction as the pronoun of elderly/authoritative figures, like samurai or old men 🦇
More about personal pronouns in Twst here!
Pronouns can vary by person depending on age, gender and context, but they also vary based on personal preference and how a person wishes to
Why does everyone think fiction is just fantasy wish fulfillment now and not like an exploration of themes and ideas
People will be like “this movie is evil and gross because it depicts a predatory relationship” and then you watch the movie in question and it’s about how preying on young women is bad and impacts their lives negatively
“Why would they do this instead of just making everyone in the movie nice and normal and good” so we would have this conversation….

"you have to buy switch 2 games, don't you think the workers deserve to be paid?" that's not how that works. that's not how any of this works. you dumb motherfucker. they get a salary. they don't get royalties
Also the commercial success of a game doesn’t mean that the employees keep their jobs, just in case anyone’s forgotten about all the closures of studios right after releasing wildly successful games
I once wrote a 1500 word essay on something I'd forgotten to read in the 40 minutes before class. Including the time it took to read the thing I'd forgotten to read.
I got an A on that paper.
Writing is a skill. Skill is muscle. If you don't use a muscle, it atrophies. If you are a student and you are tempted to use genAI to cheese an assignment, I am begging you for your own sake to not do it.
This is not a moral stance about genAI (which is shit at what it's ostensibly for, and full of lies and evil, and fueled by art theft and burning rainforests, and there is no good reason to ever use it for anything; that's the moral reason for why you shouldn't use it), it is a purely pragmatic stance based on the fact that if you use it you will never learn the single most essential skill that is used in every single workplace.
You will never learn to bullshit.
And if you cannot bullshit, you will not understand when you are being fed bullshit by others.
For your own sake you must learn to do your own thinking, your own bullshitting, because our trashfire society runs on bullshit and for your own good you must become fluent in it, because very few people will bother to translate it for you. It was asinine in the late 90s, and it is asinine today, but it is the central truth of adult society: everything is bullshit, and you need to know what is going on beneath the bullshit, and you need to be able to bullshit back if necessary.
I know that the expectations being placed on you are ever-increasing, and I know that it does not seem rational to put effort into explaining the plot of a Charles Dickens novel to someone who has read the thing 50 times and will read 50 identical essays about it over the weekend. I know you are being handed ever-greater heaps of what is functionally mindless busywork because of an institutional obsession with metrics that don't actually measure learning in a useful way. High school was nightmarish in the 90s and I am fully aware that it has only gotten worse.
Nevertheless, you must try, if only for your own sake. Curiosity is your best hope, and dogged determination your best weapon. Learn, please, if only out of spite.
I was able to get an A on that paper because I was able to skim the reading, figure out what it was about, and bullshit for 1500 words in the space of 40 minutes.
Imagine what you can do if you learn to bullshit like I can bullshit.
For my senior year of AP English, I was assigned reading over Easter break. We were instructed to read The Old Man And The Sea, and save the rest of the short stories in the book for the first week back.
Unfortunately, what I heard was "read everything BUT The Old Man And The Sea."
Double unfortunately: the first day back was a test, on The Old Man And The Sea. Which I had read exactly zero words of. It was, notably, a short essay test. It wasn't multiple choice or fill in the blank. It was designed to require deliberate answers from scratch, entirely out of your own head, with nothing to go on BUT what was in your head.
And in the course of about 45 minutes, I was able to use the questions of the test itself to piece together a vague enough sense of how the story went to bullshit my way through other questions. I gave wide, thematic answers that were extremely light on details, since I did not know any of them, and did not even know this test would be happening until it was in front of me. An essay test for an AP-level English class.
I had a starting point of zero information, and an essay test about the thing I was supposed to have read.
I bullshitted my way to a B+ on it.
On a test I should have gotten a ZERO on.
It's been 16 years since I took that test.
I couldn't tell you a damn thing about The Old Man And The Sea.
But you better fucking believe I still know how to bullshit, and when someone is trying to bullshit me.
The power and utility of knowing how bullshit works CANNOT be overstated. It is one of the most important skills you can ever have.
This is also a good string on this topic.
For the foreseeable future, and maybe for the rest of your life, the first question anyone is going to ask themselves after reading a written document from you is "did they really write this?" And unfortunately, this is an easy question to answer, because GPT has a very distinctive tone and if you don't read or write much you can't detect it enough to fudge it.
As a professor, I know when my students are using GPT. The problem is proving it beyond a doubt. So you can get away with this sort of thing in high school and college, but someday you're gonna have to write a cover letter or an email to a client. And then you'll either have to write something for the first time in your life, or you'll rely on your old friend GPT, and either way your cover letter will get thrown in the garbage.
There are no academic integrity committees or redos in the HR office. Hard as it may be to believe, we're giving you these assignments for a reason.
Once again: I got an A+ on philosophy freshman year of college because picking up a text and immediately vomiting out an essay about it was a reflex after 2 years of AP. I wrote my final essay with a 103 degree fever and it was either plausible enough or looked contagious enough to pass. I owe the ability to take humanities classes as a break from work to a miniature old lady who saw me pull a prank on one of her departmental underlings and gave me no choice about taking her class
As an instructor of college-level lit, I can also tell you that I am not looking for anyone to regurgitate plot to me; as one commenter posted above, I know the texts I've assigned you. I have read, watched, listened, or played it (yes I assign games). I'm looking for your response to the text, your engagement with the text, your ability to interpret deeper themes and meanings in the text, your ability to ask relevant questions and make/see relevant connections to other texts and contexts. A generative AI isn't going to do that well because it doesn't have your thoughts and that's what I, at the college level, am interested in.
Also I have my lit students do a writing prompt at the start of our classes every week about the reading (often things as simple as, "what questions do you have? What lines stood out to you?") and many of them (in a class of 26) frequently write 400-500 words in 15-20 minutes. 600 is almost assuredly not that big a lift when you actually engage with the material.
happy birthday, my queen 👑
The ace experience of enjoying smut and writing smut but will cringe at the idea of someone trying to initiate any form of it to my person lol.
I've been seeing a lot of comments surrounding JK. Rolling latest mold-filled hate towards Asexuals and aroace people in general, mostly asking: "why would anyone go after the people that are literally doing nothing?"
But aroace people are not doing nothing, you are disrrupting the status quo, even if you think it's just you choosing not to have sex or seek a romantic partner, that's something that goes agaisnt conservative values. In the eyes of conservatives and bigots, you are part of the destruction of the traditional family structure. Cause this people would prefer you being miserable but with a big family made up of the next working class to fill minimum wage positions.
Hell, presenting an alternative lifestyle where you can actually choose to not be with anyone is dangerous for their cause. It is an active message to others that you don't have to tolerate abuse or social pressure to be with someone, and that's something that everyone, wether in the aroace espectrum or not, might need in order to form their own boundaries and not fall into a relationship they never wanted.
So yeah, keep doing nothing Asexuals and Aromantics! For freedom of choice is the enemy of fascism.
Being aroace was something that took awhile to even realize I was. The norm has always been date and be with someone. So yeah no one can comprehend being contempt in only having platonic relationships and not having intimacy.
Even now people be like you're getting older your time will run out to find someone.
I'm in my late 20s, I don't give a flying fuck if I find someone or not but for other people they can't fathom being without a partner be it for romance or companionship sake or because of needing to get down and nasty.
I like having none, so yeah it really fucks people's mind so hard how you can be happy not needing one or the other or even both.
Did I make another skully x reader smut? Yes yes I did.
happy kh23rd and bday boys sora & vani❤️💙
happy 23rd anniversary, kingdom hearts!!!
If i write smut of skully and sebek ?
Its on my to do list
Also on the to do list
Sex on a bus with Malleus x reader
Idk why but that's what my brain said
Save me, professor fem!Crewel, save me
if you’re white and wanna write a poc character and feel awkward about it i implore you to ignore any twitblr stuff treating it as a massive ethical burden and instead come in more with the same mindset you’d have if you wanted to write about idk firefighters but didn’t know anything about firefighters so you do... research. Like fuck off with the weird kinda creepy calls for spiritual introspection you’re not writing about god damn space aliens you’re writing about humans and if you think you need more perspective of different life experiences just read?
If I were writing about firefighters I'd also, in addition to just reading about them, take advantage of Our Blessed Internet to ask actual firefighters about how shit works. I'd do the same for a minority I'm not a part of.
I remember when there was this LiveJournal community where you could just ask about anything you needed for your novel - medicine, professions, vehicles, how things function in country X - and people who knew something about that would answer.
We need to bring this back.
And apparently just this summer they DID bring it back - it's called Little Details and it's on Dreamwidth!!!!
Remember, a world where everyone stays in their own boxes and only writes about their own narrow demographic is straight up a goal for racists. If you ever find yourself attempting anti-racism so hard you've looped back to "functionally the same thing racists want", stop, take stock, and ask yourself where things went wrong.
