RWBY characters suggestion for the other half of Team FNKI
**I started this post when the episode Never Miss a Beat premiered**
So the first two members of Team FNKI are already known to be Flynt Coal and Neon Katt, but the other two are still unknown. I don’t know if RoosterTeeth ever plans to show them or if they even have an idea on who they should be, but I have some ideas on who they could be based off of after what we’ve seen so far.
Here’s what we know about the current members right now:
Flynt Coal
- The “F” in FNKI
- Team leader
- Color group: Black
- Musician
- Genre: Jazz/Funk
- Instrument: Trumpet
- Uses a dust-powered trumpet to create powerful gusts that literally blow people away.
- Semblance: Killer Quartet (produces three different colored clones each a quarter note off the next, quadrupling the power of the gusts)
- Based off of:
- Jazz culture
- Musical artist Flynt Flossy
- Reference to an inside joke from the Achievement Hunter Minecraft Let's Plays
Very chill and laid back kind of personality, His father owned a dust shop before Wiess’ father ran him out of business. So he knows a thing or two about dust.
Neon Katt
- The “N” in FNKI
- Color group: Neon...
- Dancer
- Genre: Techno
- Style: Rave
- Uses dust-powered-glowstick-nunchucks that the activate by “breaking the glowstick”
- Semblance: Rainbow Trail??? (I’m only speculating, but she’s very fast and controlled when she moves. Kinda like a roller dancer/skater with a rainbow-colored rocket booster, idk...)
- Based off of:
- Nyan Cat meme
- J-Pop/Rave culture
She’s has an extremely bubbly and hyperactive personality. She also seems to take great joy in provoking her opponents, immediately mockingly mimicking Yang's speech and attacking her for her weight and appearance. In battle, she retains this attitude, taunting her enemies and cracking puns that even Yang fails to appreciate. However, once beaten, she does respect her opponents, calling Yang and Weiss "super crazy awesome" and asking them to party sometime.
FNKI consists of a Musician and a Dancer. You keep up the pattern and you can do another musician and another dancer. And because of the references I based them off of (as well as their headwear) they could be siblings (Buck is short for bucket, since they both have bucket hats)
Kadmium Buck (based off the word Cadmium)
Kopper Buck (like the metal Copper)

- Color group: Silver (Kadmiel) or yellow (Kopper)
- Musician
- Genre: Rock/Metal/maybe a little bit of Funk too
- Instrument: Battle Axe Guitar/Bass Guitar
- High and low notes can stun/disrupt enemies from a close up distance, barely effective from medium range
- Fights heavy and brutal like an axe wielder and keeps a high or low note droning while swinging sometimes for a better effect
- Semblance: Amplify (Plays louder and hits harder, maybe???)
- Based off of: Buckethead from Guns and Roses
Personality: Quiet, Stoic, kind of intimidating...until you get to know them, but still a bit intimidating
Iris Buck (based off the flower)
- The “I” in FNKI
- Main Color: Purple
- Dancer
- Genre: Hip Hop
- Style: Breakdancing/B-boying/Popping/Locking/Krumping/just any or every form of Hip Hop dancing
- something similar to Kung Fu, Capoeira, and Hip Hop Kido
- A dust user that has gloves and shoes that can be used to control different kinds of dust with their hands and feet through their dancing (Ex: airflares/other powermoves for creating small directional tornadoes with Wind dust almost like Wiess’ rapier, poplocking/tutting when using Electric Dust, krumping when using Earth, Ice, or Expolosive dust)
- Semblance: Musicality or Groove (Listening to music and dancing to the beat gives them a power boost, speed boost, and durability boost. Similar to an adrenaline rush.)
- Based off of:
- The Jabbawockeez
- The Kinjaz
Personality: Confident, Restless, Agile, Cool Attitude
If Rooster Teeth wants to use this idea, they can do so and change them around however they feel. This is merely a fan’s suggestion if they ever decide to bring Team FNKI back to the story. Hopefully, Rooster Teeth and y’all like the idea too!
