The 1st one is from the anime, the 2nd is from the manga… i love both, they convey different feelings, but in the end, he’s just SO relieved that she’s alive 🥺🤧🤧
I did a bunch of royai doodles and idk what to do with them, so i guess i’ll leave them here

It's avaliable as a print on my Redbubble!
you ever think about the fact riza finds comfort in roy’s voice bc i do
i was unsure to upload this but anyway,,, i needed to draw some tenderness 😔
Roy always had questioned if he deserved her love. There were moments where they would be a feet apart, walking to some assigned place for duty, and he’d note the small things she would do for him. The extra strong coffee cup on his desk when he was angry. Her stifled snort when she listened to him argue with Havoc over Amestrian English grammar. Her straightforward manner she told him to get going. The three taps of her pen on a small period at her document — three taps, an “I love you” they learned to do back when they were kids. She framed herself as a woman of nurture, the kind to remind him of his goal while hiding her delight or dismay in public.
In return, he found ways to reciprocate. Roy Mustang loved to talk. He could ramble if the lieutenant allowed him too. They’d talk for hours in private, going back and forth, the lieutenant happy to talk of struggles, of the book she had recently finished, of the newest plan just to see how far they could refine their drafted tactics. But they knew that was too dangerous. Only the confines of thick walls, of secretive rooms, kept them safe to speak their mind. Despite his nature, he appreciated the quiet when it came. He didn’t have to push himself to speak around her. Comfort resided in silence — in hushed words, in little codes that whispered “I adore you” — in the undeniable truth that they wanted to be there till the dawn’s break.
When it came to the physical, Roy hadn’t much experience. He listened to her words, heard the orders of where to press and cradle her skin, and he abided by it because pleasuring Riza Hawkeye was more satisfying than pleasuring himself. In the dimness of the moonlight, he took her by the hand, pushed her down to the mattress, then laughed with her when their teeth clacked together from misstep.
“Experience is the best teacher,” was his breathy response. Riza took it as a moment to tussle his hair, using the same fingers that once played with gunfire, of dirtied rags against muzzles.
She then said, with the utmost certainty: “Then let’s take the first session nice and slow. I want the teachings to stick.”
