my brain has been a bit bleh lately, its hard to describe it just feels scrambled. my general relativity class has weekly homework and it takes a long time to do + I feel behind in understanding it,, I think I need to ask the professor to have a 1 on 1 since I can't make the office hours. but a good thing is last week I got our simulation to run (it had some issues)! also the sunrise sky looked really pretty this morning

Went for a walk, read a bit and just sat in my favourite chair. Never thought I'd have to relearn how to relax.
Work will get more stressful soon so I'll use the time until then to do nice things.

Saturday October 25:
Took my Saturday morning ballet class!
Walked into town for a warm latte, that kept me toasty on the chilly walk back.
Spent the afternoon reading; both for leisure and to get a bit ahead for the week.
to top off the evening, I watched an episode of Over the Garden Wall, as I do every weekend beginning in early October. Creating a sense of time and place has been invaluable for preserving morale in grad school, and today was an exemplary fall day!

idk whether it’s cute or depressing how many opportunities people have invented to make wishes. birthday candles, eyelashes, fountains, stars, dandelions. people say they don’t believe in the universe or any kind of higher power but nobody ever passes up an opportunity to make a wish

What a bizarre date today is - a year halfway gone. It's again very early in the morning and I am on the train - the heat haunted my night and will make the day unbearable, I fear. Nevertheless, I will focus on my Czech studies today. First a tutorial in the morning, then a rehearsal of my presentation and a class in the evening. Then nothing but reading and sleep - Is A River Alive by Robert Macfarlane has captivated me entirely.
