Imagine: Telling Yugi he’s cute.
It was a rather hot day at Domino City; the hottest it's ever been in months.
You invited Yugi and the rest of the gang for a fun day at your pool, since your parents were out of town for the weekend and you had the whole house to yourself!
You hear splashes of water outside as you prepare to take the snacks outside.
"Hey, ya knucklehead! No fair! Ya got a head start!"
You heard Joey complaining all the way from the backyard, he was always unintentionally loud.
You pull open the bag of pretzels, pouring them into the bowl.
You look up from your work to Yugi as he walks through the patio door — waving to you.
“Hey, what’s up?” You look back down as the pretzels reach the rim on the bowl. You throw the empty bag away.
“I came to see if you needed help.” Answered Yugi, soft spoken as ever.
“You know you don’t have to.” You say as you grab another bowl from the pantry, “You’re my guest, I have to attend to you.”
“Yeah, but that wouldn’t be fair now would it? Besides, friends help each other!” A sweet smile crossed his lips as he approaches your side, “So, what is it that you need me to do?”
“Well,” You begin as you place the bowl you just got in front of him, “You can help by pouring these chips into the bowl.” You grab the bag of potato chips and hand them to Yugi.
Yugi opens the bad and dumps them into the bowl.
You walk towards the fridge and pull out the bottles of soda, “The pizza should be here soon.”
“Great!” Yugi throws out the empty bag, and grabs the bowls of snacks, “You didn’t have to pay for the pizza yourself; we would have all pitched in.”
“Oh, I know.” You say as you walk to him, bottles in hand. You gesture with your head towards the patio door.
“You know, ever since I met you I’ve never seen you without your millennium puzzle around your neck. It’s different.”
“Oh, is that a bad thing?” Asks Yugi as he follows after you.
You stop before the door frame and turn to look at him, “Of course not!” You say reassuringly, “My eyes aren’t used to it that’s all.”
You decide to take a step through the door but stop yourself and then back to Yugi.
“Is there something wrong, Y/N?” Yugi takes a few steps closer to you to make sure you’re okay.
“Yeah. I’m going to tel you something and I hope you don’t take it the wrong way.”
Yugi furrows his brows and tilts his head — listening.
“I think you look really cute without your millennium puzzle around your neck.” You admit smiling.
Yugi’s cheeks turn a bright rosy color as he stands in silence — speechless.
You look down at the bottles in your hands, “There’s something about it that changes your demeanor once in a while, not sure how to put it.”
You look back at Yugi who was still blushing.
“Please don’t take it the wrong way.”
Yugi takes in a deep breath and looks at you, smiling, “No. of course not! But, now I guess it’s a good time as ever to tell you.”
Yugi walks to the table and places the bowls down.
I follow him and place the sodas down, “What is it?” I ask, pulling out a seat.
Yugi takes in a deep breath and pulls out a seat himself, “It’s about my millennium puzzle — there’s a secret I’ve been keeping…”
