no but what is so heartbreaking about will's situation in s1b and s2a (hannibal framing him & his false imprisonment) is the contrast between his pure empathy and the fact that the others were not able to empathize with him when he needed it the most.

he was being used for his empathy; he had a 100% success rate for catching killers, and everyone always believed him and praised him for it: "you are always right about these things, we need your help." yet when HE needs help, when he needs people to believe him the most, because HE is the victim this time, they stop. for so long, they don't try to empathize with him--they don't even try to assume his perspective. they barely even try to entertain the possibility that he could be right. and what's even worse is that he can understand why they can't. he can empathize with the people who refuse to empathize with him, and that must have been so unbelievably painful and isolating for him.
