Ways The World Might Have Gone To Shit Without ‘Agent’ Phil Coulson:

1) Another Handler probably would have ordered Clint to kill Natasha - the world has no Black Widow. 

2) Natasha was never there to bring Banner in - it’s possible without her it would have been impossible.

3) Coulson led Fury’s expedition to find Steve Rogers - it’s possible without Coulson he was never found.

4) The Avengers (what few there were - if any) never would have assembled - Phil’s death was what motivated them.

5) Shield ran out of options and New York went nuclear in an attempt to destroy the alien threat.

6) Shield was weakened by this attack. Hydra saw this as an opportunity and made their comeback.

7) Therefore Hydra’s attacks on the Shield academies coincided with the time in which Fitzsimmons were there and this is when Jemma died.

8) Phil never met and mentored Daisy and so she was simply, maybe forcibly (like so many), recruited by Hydra post their resurgence. 

9) As for May. Coulson was a huge part of her life for 30 years… so who is she without him? An actual Hydra agent?

One Shot - How Coulson and Melinda met first

A bit nervous Coulson looked at his clock. He was alone in a tiny office waiting for his Supervising Officer and his new partner. So every time someone passed the door of the office he expected the guys to come in. While he was waiting he asked himself what kind of person his partner would be. Well anyway he was very surprised when his Supervising Officer came in with a tiny asian woman by his side. “So this is my new partner?”, he asked with raised eyebrows. His Supervising Officer nodded and said, “Coulson, this Agent Melinda May one of our best specialists” “I know her”, he said ‘and I wonder how she passed the technical tests’, he added in his mind. But there was no more time for his thoughts about May because his Supervising Officer continued talking to them. He gave Coulson a folder and said, “Here is your first mission, Agent Coulson. Please be careful.” Coulson just nodded as an answer while he read through the documents. “How fast can you start the quinjet?”, Coulson asked May. “When we’re going now about five minutes. And Coulson.” He turned around and asked, “What is it?” “Be careful.”, she said and smiled. Coulson was a bit confused but then he turned around and gave her a kiss on the forehead “same goes for you sweetie.”, he added afterwards. ‘What was this?!’ He asked himself while he went away and left May alone who now turned quite red. For sure she would never forget this moment.
