This time i just wanted to do weird little creatures that are kind of related to stars and the galaxy just in patterns and colours

Ngl I struggled with this one a bit but at the end i manage to do something and i had fun overall.

i drew sth for @feefal's Funguary challenge (the "decay" prompt) i'm so anxious, it looks kinda sloppy compared to other artists' splendid beautiful art anyway it's a watercolor

In the enchanted forest with the mushfolk and mushroom fairies, there are also mushroom nymphs living in the deepest parts of the woods. These nymphs, on the contrary to their sisters, reached immortality by fusing or being taken over by fungi when they reached the end of their life cycle. Some of them are even older than the gods themselves, some of them are so old they lost the ability to communicate with other magical creatures. There are cases of young mushroom nymphs but those were most likely mortally wounded and saved by the fungi that closed them.

This time i posted later than usual bc i have been busy, but I'm also working on some cool new projects that i will share later this month!

So for the time being enjoy these funky designs with which i had luts of fun.

This time with lore!

So these little fellas are part of a miniserie of my creation called 'Mean Little Fairies", where fairies are the mischievous protagonists. These mushroom fairies are long lost cousins of the more humanoids one and live deep in the magical forests where humans and animals alike do not dare to venture. So, to survive, they evolved by becoming part mushroom themselves for compensating the lack of resources they could feed on (mammals, including humans). Unfortunately, exactly due to their appearance, they are frequently mistaken by more humanoid fairies and magical creatures that inhabit these environments as normal mushrooms, so they get eaten and there are cases of accidental cannibalism between fairies. Some of these mushroom looking creatures developed multiple eyes to look out from predators, some of them have their vitals protected by unexpected hard shells and so on.

I made this a couple of months ago, and since today is Joe's birthday I thought it was a good occasion to share it!

it's the end of the world.

i think we've always thought that.

maybe it's the beginning of the end.

but

maybe

so were the world wars

the fall of every ancient empire

the death of christ

the extinction of the dinosaurs

the earth being cleaved apart, birthing the moon.

there are always endings, all over.

countries

relationships

species

the life of every organism,

millions of millions,

too many for our digits to count.

it's always been ending,

i think.

and it won't be noticeable when it happens.

some people hope for a monster.

many, i assume, imagine a war.

i believe it will be slow,

each instrument dropping out

one by one

a whimper, not a bang,

they say.

and in the meantime,

i will live.

i will fight.

i don't think i'll see the end.

i don't think we will for many more generations.

it's not my business, then.

i have things to do,

instead of worrying about it.

people might ask how i can have hope,

in a time like this.

i laugh, say

"it's not all hope, silly.

it's spite

desperation

exhaustion."

and, yes,

in the fragile center,

there is hope.

but it's all clenched fists,

bared teeth.

there's much to do

to delay it.
