Dean’s theme shows up multiple times throughout the series in different variations, and it wrecks me every time. I cut out the one version of Dean’s theme from the soundtracks, located in the middle of the track Americana, and strung it together twice. Enjoy the feels~

Mr Nobody Against Putin is a documentary about a Russian teacher that documents - and attempts to subvert - the state propaganda being used in Russian schools to justify the Ukraine war. The guy secretly recorded a lot of footage and had to be snuck out of Russia for his own safety, and so this could be known. It’s been receiving critical accolades and heaps of praise, including the aforementioned award wins/nominations.

My boyfriend just watched it in a theater and noticed something. At one point the movie references the guy who implemented the gulag system, following up on a comment from a history teacher, and this is the image they picked to represent it.

It’s fucking Kermit gulag. They grayscaled an image of the gulag scene from Muppets Most Wanted and used it to illustrate an actual Soviet gulag, alongside actual historical pictures and footage, in a deathly serious documentary. See for yourself, 32 minutes in. There is no reference or citation to the Muppets/Disney in the credits so this seems like a genuine fuckup in the editing room.

i like to think of jae2/shaera as a mirror of the jae1/alysanne king/queen dynamic. both jaehaeryses let ther wives influence politics, but while aly was a feminist whose reforms widely bettered the lives of westerosi women, shaera was sort of a red scare type but for prophecy cultism who had their children marry each other (also like alysanne, but the aerys/rhaella marriage was way worse than baelon/alyssa), while jae2 dabbled mostly in war strategy and made sure he enforced her decisions, unlike jae1 who constantly tried to undermine the women in his family and ther political power

my dad (Maori) works on a ship with all Maori/Tongan/Samoan fisherman- and one Aussie guy called Jake.

And that wasn't done on purpose just sort of how it ended up, but Jake recently got an injury so they put him on a Different boat just for a little bit (a sit in the wheelhouse and scout type of boat, instead of the main fishing one) and he only got back to my dad's ship today and he was apparently like Shaking. He was Traumatised.

Dad said Jake kept pulling him aside and going "They were all yelling on there, but in a MEAN way" "They didn't clean... Like at ALL"

Jake experienced what a boat full of old school Aussie fisherman is like. That is the norm Jake. You just happened to be on the all Island boy boat on your first go out. "It was time for dinner and they had FROZEN nuggets" Jake that's what they have on ships that are out at sea for months at a time.

On my dad's boat they are eating fresh fish and coconut milk Ceviche. They're grilling steaks on an open bbq on the deck that probably is not regulation. All the guys have their own special knives to prepare sashimi every couple days. Everyone is happily doing their own work so they can clock out early and set up a movie on the deck. Jake did you genuinely believe that's what every boat was doing.
