the whole interaction is strange, weird, otherworldly, alien. every word to describe something odd happening could be used here, and six looking like a lost child under the gaze of one eye as the girl speaks to her made the situation even stranger. but the more she speaks, the more six's heart beats faster, pounds heavier in her chest, threatening to burst forth. if it was possible, the girl must hear how loud the blood pounds in six's ears, how heavy her breaths are becoming with each passing second.
and then the name of her beloved arcanine leaves the other's lips. he's right there. she says. can't you see him ? this wasn't real. this wasn't really happening around her. six's breaths get harder, faster, more aggressive, more vocal. irises fly from side to side, around and up and down and every which way as they try to see what the girl is talking about, that smile on her face never fading. but she can't see it. she can't see anything. her body is shaking, her mind is racing.
all she can think about is that day as she helplessly squirms on the ground in a vain effort to get away from the girl, clutching at whatever fabrics or grass under her burning fingertips she could. everything about her is falling apart, and finally, the more she thinks about it, the more she starts to crack and crumble, and her heavy breaths turn into terrified, insane laughter that just keeps getting louder and louder. ❝ o-of course i can't see him ! and you… you can't fucking see him either ! he's fucking dead ! ❞ her eyes are wide and wild, her gaze is no longer rooted in reality.
helios doesn't seem to like her yelling, pinning his ears back to his head and whining at her reaction. at her yelling. at her reminder of his demise. it hurt him too, the fact that he was gone. but this was the closest he could get to speaking with her, the closest he could get to being close after all these years of being forced to stand by her side, just out of reach. he loved his sunshine more than anything in this whole world and the next, and yet, he could not reach out and embrace her warmth. sad eyes look over to silva, full of remorse, of worry. begging her to help six, to calm her down and make her understand that he was by her side. make her see that it was okay that he was still here with her.
in the meantime, six is still struggling, now holding herself as she crouches on the forest floor. fingers tear desperately at her hair, not enough to pull it out, but enough to be painful to her – enough to make her begin grunt through gritted teeth. ❝ t-this isn't happening – is this some kind of cruel joke ?! do you think you're funny ?! ❞ she's still yelling at silva, trying to claw her way from those memories and instead direct her anger and fear onto the being who'd brought it upon her in the first place.
