Not even just from birth.  Female fetuses are less likely to miscarry in adverse conditions, such as famine.  It makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint.  If a sexual dimorphic species is to survive, it needs far more females than males.  In nature, males are pretty expendable.

Honestly I feel like the concept of womanhood can be succinctly described in a sentence. The lived experience of females. Being mocked at six years old for crying when some one pulls your hair. The feeling of your life ending with your first period. If you’re lucky enough to escape abuse both sexual and domestic, knowing you’re lucky. Being called just a house wife" for marrying a man or a “disgusting d*ke” for loving women. And then waking up everything morning, getting out of bed, and fighting for your humanity day after day. Womanhood is not dresses and make up and “because I say so.” Womanhood is living and loving and fucking fighting to be recognized as a person despite even though the world sees you as nothing more than ‘vagina person’
