What is your version of doctor octopus's motivation for becoming a supervillain?

For mine, it was the abuse he faced from nirman while working at oscorp. The accident that left his lower half parlayzed and rewuring him to uses his bionic tentacles to get around was cuased by norman's negilgence. Ever since then he was treated like a work ox by norman. The sinister six plan failling was what motivated otto to strike out on his own and become a supervillain to get back at osborn, but also being an unexpected and reluctant ally of spider-man.

For my au, the overarching plot involves Oscorp getting shut down after it’s discovered that they’ve been dumping radioactive chemicals. These chemicals are the things that end up causing both my spidersona and the villains to develop powers.

Dr. Otto Octavius was a Marine biologist (specifically a population biologist) and dabbling in extremely passionate conservation efforts. At some point he began to work at the New York Aquarium after his overall attitude and ego began to limit his social life. He was actually one of the whistleblowers to alert the wider public of Oscorp’s dumping. After the radioactive material was discovered contaminating the water ways, Octavius volunteered with a cleanup crew, that included zoologist Dr. Curt Connors. The two grew close, and it was one of the first true friendships Octavius had had in years. At some point they split off from the main group, and began to try and document the effects and clean by themselves, as Otto thought they weren’t getting enough done. They (mostly Octavius) completely overestimated what they could do with their limited resources.

They both disappeared and were presumed to be dead for four years, but then Octavius suddenly showed back up. His exposure to the radiation had warped his DNA, and mutated him into a half octopus half human monster. While still brilliant, he will function mostly on instinct and emotion. This leads to him lashing out and attacking former Oscorp employees, or anyone he deems connected to the whole incident. He is also incredibly antagonistic toward Connors from them having a fling during their time together that ended really badly for the both of them.

He is eventually recruited by Vulture into the sinister six. TLDR, my version of Vulture contracted the radiation from roadkill. They now can gain limited control of carrion birds by feeding them meat contaminated with their blood, and they use these birds to collect blackmail. Vulture then uses this blackmail to sick Octavius on people, because without motivation, Octavius is mostly docile. Octavius is smart but unpredictable, holds grudges, and doesn’t really like to leave ends loose, so after being convinced that my spidersona had something to do with Oscorp, he has his sights pretty set.
