Ethan Peck as Spock is great and I like him, but Anson Mount as Pike has taken over my brain space to the point where every time Pike comes up in fanfic or beta canon, I don't see Jeffrey Hunter (tos) or Bruce Greenwood (aos), I see Anson Mount and his three-inch-tall hair and unfairly handsome father vibe. Like.
Spock and Jim alternate between Nimoy/Shatner and Quinto/Pine depending on the fic and the vibe in my mind, most of the bridge crew is usually in my mind as the tos actors bc I'm binging tos rn, but Anson is just stuck in my mind as Pike. Chapel, M'Benga, and Una are also all in my head as snw actors, mostly because I haven't seen them yet in a tos context (aside from chapel) and because I just like them.

His oxygen tank is like BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP I AM EMPTY YOU ARE GOING TO DIE and he's just staring at the receptionist like a cat when you won't fill up the gaping empty tiny bit of space at the bottom of their food bowl.
