I was looking up facts about Cormorants to find a title for this and found out about the liver bird a mythological creature from liverpool that is literally just a cormorant which I find kinda funny

just saw a 'comments' tab on someones blog you know where the following and likes tabs would be if enabled and it was just showing all the replies theyve made on peoples posts. this is fascinating when did this feature come out
EMERGENCY - ITS AUTO ENABLED!
if you've made replies on posts there is now a tab on your blog showing every post youve replied to and your reply.
if this is not what you want, either go to your blog and click comments and disable it from there or just go to your individual blogs setting pages. just change it from blue to grey if you dont want everyone to see your replies AND the post you're replying to
PLEASE BE ADVISED that it is set to disabled for blogs that have not made any replies but it will turn ON if you reply with that blog in the future.! i just tested it with my main, which was greyed out but it turned on the moment i left a test reply
figured i'd get the word out bc i have not seen a single mention of this and i'm sure there are plenty of people who maybe comment on things they don't want on display for everyone to see on their blog lol. you can still look at your replies with it toggled off just no one else can, like locking the following and likes list
so for some reason this feature was actually announced on the tumblr engineering blog. interesting choice not to reblog it to the staff or tumblr blog, esp considering they asked for user input on how to implement it, but i suppose considering the response to the last update maybe the replies would be too overwhelming...
so couple of clarifications. comments are disabled as default for primary blogs that have their likes disabled. they are seemingly enabled for all other blogs that have replied to posts
posts you comment on may show on your followers 'for you' page if you leave your replies publically available. they may, in the future, show in on your followers dashboard if your follower goes to their dash settings and enables this. apparently, if your likes are enabled, your followers can already see those on the dash if they've gone into preferences and selected to do so, which I was unaware of, and that seems to be disabled at default, but it's possible i disabled it previously and forgot about it ig

Explanation:
They are shooting the scene in Desolation of Smaug where Kili and Tauriel are having their first real conversation in the dungeons.
In the scene, they talk about a party happening upstairs (something about the stars, I canât remember). Legolas is supposed to be seen staring at the two of them in jealousy âcause he likes Tauriel.
Orlando, however, chose to make this glorious blooper happen by wearing a party hat and calling them sluts.

i kinda wish more kids media did female characters like how spongebob does sandy
sandy is just straight up one of the guys. there are no episodes about her being forced to be feminine, or having "girl problems" she gets mocked for, and the episodes she DOES have with the other female characters in the later seasons are also not focused solely on the concept of being female (the gal pals is one of my favorite things to come out of new spongebob actually)
she gets to be feminine and masculine and walks the tightrope beautifully. she actually gets jokes and good lines and funny moments. outside of the pitch bible and a couple of tie-in books, she's never been spongebob's Designated Girlfriend. the show has almost never tried to push that either! she is a main anchor of the cast and does not just exist to fill a quota or be someone's prop. she has realistic flaws and an incredibly defined personality
and like, i think sandy lowkey paved the way for shows to have more girl characters like this. i said in the beginning i want more, but i can also list some older and current ones that do the same thing; rottmnt, arthur, kids next door, billy & mandy, hey arnold, the loud house, and like tons more.
sandy is such an interesting outlier in the world of western animation tropes and i don't think enough people talk about it tbh. i love her and i'm glad i got to grow up with her :)

Important Fox Update
So a few days ago I noticed a fox friend running through my yard. I was able to snap this photo.
I called him Milo.
I thought he was a lone wolf who chose my neighborhood as his domain.
But Milo is not alone.
Milo is a papa.
He and his lady fox have three little foxes!
I went from never having seen a fox to FIVE foxes playing in my backyard.
The three kiddos were wrestling. Their opening move is to do this cat-like superjump and then dive bomb into their sibling. Then they roll around. And then a high speed chase ensues.
One of the little foxes came near the house and I got a few closer photos.
I love the little black socks.
I'm going to need to figure out a lot more fox names.
Okay... I've thought about the names.

I was feeling agitated and artblocked yesterday so I decided to give my brain a rest by watching TV and then the next thing I knew these were in front of me
just. please know. that giffing scenes like that is a fucking nightmare labor of love.

every giffer i know does it out of love for the game, but for the record it's not... easy. it's not just slapping the footage in a cap grabber and posting whatever it spits out. "professional" lighting and color grading has only gotten waaay murkier and flatter in the fifteen years i've been giffing on here, so uh. don't repost gifs, please!
