character is 16–18+, uses she/it pronouns, and is unlabeled. she likes girls and loves them romantically and passionately, often in a dependent and somewhat possessive way. guys are fun, too — but she’s a stranger to falling in love with them. she’s sure of that because she knows what love is to her; it’s animalistic. in love, she turns into a cat with a white dove between it’s teeth, showing off its loyalty by gifting it to its owner, or in this case lover. that’s never happened with a man, but whether that is because she so far has only used guys to piss off her parents or because she just doesn’t like them like that, she doesn’t know. sex though, to her, can be good with any gender. emily is suicidal and has a variety of mental illnesses, which to her parents is shameful, but she’s proud of who she is. at least, she refuses to tone herself down for the purpose of being easier to stomach for other people. if they don’t get her, that’s their problem — yet she yearns to be understood. she resents medications that aren’t dangerous, pills that can’t kill you. she resents it when scars fade. she resents people who try to lick her wounds away; they belong to her, and she doesn’t know who to be without them. at the same time, she just wants to be held and never abandoned ... not by her wounds, and not by the people she loves.
