In my experience trans women at most pick up the surface-level traits associated with females (posturing as shy soft and feminine, smiling, using feminine language etc) but keep very deeply male behaviors (waiting until females are comfortable before diving into sexually inappropriate behaviors, speaking over females, having jealousy or disdain for female traits that comes out basically the same way as hateful males etc). When they are in groups with other trans women it's obvious.

The worst of them will use these former traits to their advantage to create a false sense of security for females and/or explicitly deny the latter existing, as we see with transfeminists.

You should be able to listen to a full album without looking at your phone. You should be able to watch a 3 hour film from beginning to end without checking social media. If you can't do this, you need to start training your attention span as if it were a physical muscle. I once was one of the loudest supporters of trans women, the biggest thing that made me change, was realizing how little they actually cared about women. I respected them, just wasn't attracted to them? TERF. I believe there are spaces for women that they should not be allowed in? TERF. In pretty much all spaces, a male being present is seen as "legitimizing". Shows for women and girls begin getting attention when it gains a fanbase of men. People note when ideologies are predominantly women and then associate them with being frivolous, impermanent, or hyperempathetic (veganism, astrology), and when men pick up on them they have a much easier time becoming thought leaders and gaining traction. There's a sense of "a man is saying it, this must be serious business".

This is also seen in the trans community. People look up to trans women, listen to what they say, and think about them before the opinions and presence of female trans people, because they are male. The ranting and condemnations of trans women are taken far more seriously than a trans man's, and trans men use them to legitimize their own gender feelings, because they are still subconsciously searching for the opinions of a male to validate them.

This also goes for the plural thing. People were thankful when it switched from being predominantly AFAB to being taken over by MTFs for this reason.

a lot of transfems' posting about gendered socialisation makes it clear that they think it's something that they opt into/choose to participate in/have to enjoy to be affected by rather than something that happens to people from the time they are born. people start saying shit like "wow what a little flirt!" about baby boys before they've even developed object permanence. people have gendered expectations for babies based on their cries. mothers overestimate their infant sons' ability to crawl and underestimate their daughters' ability. these attitudes affect how people raise their children. these attitudes affect how children develop their attitudes towards themselves and others.

peers bullying you for your sensitivity, parents blowing up at you for liking Girl Things, boys saying you aren't really a boy because you're a pussy are things that happen to boys because they were born and raised male. being the world's sweetest most gentle and sensitive effeminate little child who never hurt a fly or did a misogyny doesn't make the male socialisation not exist. the socialisation one receives isn't an "I consent!" thing it's the way people treat you differently based on your gender. transitioning later in life doesn't magically stop wider society from being homophobic, transphobic & misogynistic and enforcing rigid expectations based upon this on anyone in society.

It's pretty clear that a lot of TIM anger comes from jealousy.

They're angry about TIFs being welcomed in lesbian spaces because they want to be there instead, they think they're more worthy of being there. They frame it as concern for "men in lesbian spaces" and it makes them furious, because they know inside that they are the actual men in lesbian spaces.

They're angry about women and TIFs talking about our sex based oppression, because they wish they had oppression to talk about. They try to claim they're oppressed for their dicks, but deep down they're aware that they know nothing about sex based oppression and never will.

They're extremely angry about lesbians existing. They grew up feeling entitled to women's bodies, and lesbians rejecting them made them angry because they wanted access to them. So they tried to make up a workaround by identifying as a lesbian, and it infuriates them when it doesn't work, because they so badly want to force women into having sex with them.

They all try to pretend their anger is about trans rights or justice, but in reality they're just painfully jealous that all they have is male experience and they'll never have anything else.

Some of the most cruel women I've known have been TIM-partnered het women who call themselves kinky lesbians and wrap themselves in the aesthetics of 90s underground BDSM zines.
