Even if you’re unemployed, even if you’re taking time off from school, even if nobody is calling and making plans with you, get out of bed, take a shower, put on clean clothes, wear some cologne or perfume, turn all the lights on, do some laundry, clean up a little bit. 

Doing all this stuff causes a shift in your perspective. Do it in spite of your situation.

It’s a neon life cycle, the light begins rising upwards, a representation of growth and ambition, before peaking at different points, denoting different levels of fulfillment, and finally travelling downwards again, back to it’s initial position. What’s most interesting to me in this piece is the way the apex’s don’t last long.Those are the peaks of the lives of two different people. This piece shows the effects of time and life on energy; no matter how high we rise we must eventually fall and end. Triangles conceptually contain meanings such as past present and future and this adds another dimension to the path of the neon lives. Interestingly within this piece of artwork there is also a star-crossed love story depending on which dimension you view it from. From a 2-D angle the neon lives cross twice; at first it’s just a moment before they travel down and split apart, and at the second time they meet just before they meet their end. However from a 3-D perspective the lines never meet. This is a double contrast of cynicism of love never really happening and the idealism of love meeting and crossing paths before it’s too late. The cyclical nature of this piece of artwork is a tribute to the neverending nature of time, love and death.  - Phina.

I’m so excited to finally splurge my analysis on anything that moves me, be it a film, philosophy passage, life experience, or song. A little bit about me?
