I watched Anastasia the musical yesterday and absolutely fell in love with Derek Klena. I just had to be able to draw him. This is me trying to become familiar with his features.

Instead of getting an audition and going, “Oh my God, what are they going to think of me, how’s it going to go?” I went into it going, “Oh my gosh, I get to audition today. How exciting is this? I get to be an actor for two minutes.” I had a new vigor for it when I realized what I actually loved doing was being a performer. Whether it be for one person, or for 1,000 people. That’s what brings me joy.
