some fundamental context you need to understand when assessing competing claims in the Israel/Palestine conflict is that it is the common view in Palestinian society that any and all Jewish history in Ancient Israel & Judah is entirely fabricated “Zionist propaganda”—up to and including the very idea that the Jewish Temple ever existed, or that the Jewish Patriarchs (Abraham and Isaac and Jacob) or any of the Jewish prophets were Jewish at all.

this is the source of the belief that Jews do not have any ties to the land. a flat out denial that anything in Jewish holy texts is truly Jewish—that, in “fact”, they were Muslim—and Jews have fabricated their entire history.

jews still existing does directly conflict with a lot of basic tenets in both christianity & islam. and the reality of our ongoing jewishness does account for a lot of violence towards jews, including ongoing efforts to convert us. if judaism is “right” then its supposed continuations are “wrong,” and i think this anxiety is built into the marrow of antisemitism. this doesn’t even get into the specific conflicts between christianity and islam, but the onus should not be modern-day jews to reconcile these belief systems. also messianics fuck off forever thank you
