do you have any tips for converting strong verbs to their prateritum forms? because i cant seem to figure out a pattern and it's killing me

Sorry for the very delayed answer!!! So I have something that MAY be helpful. So the reason you can’t find a pattern is due to the fact that the verbs have very different origins. It goes way back in the history of the German language. I had a course called “Einführung in die alteren deutschen Sprachstufen” this semester, and my professor gave us this chart to help us understand where the various conjugations came from. 

This is for Middle High German, but the patterns should be more apparent! You might need a teenie bit of knowledge on how the vowels shifted over time, but it should be fairly clear what the current High German correspondent is. This should help you see the patterns :)

Swedish movies and TV shows

this is the site for swedish tv where you can watch most of the things that go on TV http://www.svtplay.se there’s also some streaming sites and i think they sub most english movies to swedish and have some original swedish movies and shows http://swefilm.tv/ and http://dreamfilmhd.bz/ i recommend adblock if you’re gonna watch the streaming sites tho.

Skavlan - Talkshow featuring all kinds of celebrities, english/swedish/norweigan so maybe not the best for a beginner to swedish because of his norweigan accent

Using Buzzfeed for Reading Practice

I just recently found out that Buzzfeed has different websites for different countries, WHICH ALSO MEANS THAT THERE’S TONS OF READING MATERIAL IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! This is really really good for reading practice, since the articles are short, the genre is familiar, and the topics are relevant and interesting. At the moment, there are only 6 languages available (including English).

They’re coming out with Chinese soon, too!

I tested it out on French and it seems to be very similar to Rosetta Stone - but it’s free, and teaches grammar. The price of Rosetta Stone and the fact that it doesn’t teach grammar are the only huge drawbacks of it, so Linguti seems to be really good!
