Emmet had to be dragged kicking and screaming to therapy because going felt like admitting Ingo was really gone.
Ingo had to be stubbornly dragged to therapy because he honestly believes he doesn't have ptsd. (Getting almost killed and psychologically tormented by a hisuian zoroark is just a common Hisuian L. This kind of thing was normal in Hisui. Ingo doesn't understand why everyone is making such a big fuss over these things.)

Welcome back Lys, and I'm surprised that you feel remorse.
Seriously though, I didn't expect Lysandre to be in this game, let alone with a damaged memory, a wounded body, and genuine remorse for his attempted genocide. It's especially shocking since literally everywhere outside of the mainline games he's pretty much been willing to die for his beliefs, but here? He's a far cry from the self-righteous and entitled supremacist billionaire that he was in X/Y, serving as an ally throughout the game without any intention of reverting.
He acknowledges that he was wrong, he acknowledges that he was on a mission to have the world for himself, he acknowledges that his self-righteous "mission" was just him lashing out against the world. And all of this self-reflection started after he was fcked up, rendered immortal, and saved by Zygarde. Now, he merely wishes to see Zygarde restored to its full strength, and atone for what he's done. Hell, the entire plot of the game revolves around the consequences of his actions as much as it does around the consequences of AZ's actions, both of which he actively tries to help the player clean up. Though he still ultimately wants one thing...
Except this time, it isn't twisted rhetoric....
...it's an actual promise to strive for better.
It's surprising to see the Pokemon equivalent of Ra's Al Ghul actually turn over a new leaf. Like yeah it took his body and mind getting damaged, but I can say that he's actually in a better position here than he was in X/Y. It's also funny to see that Lysandre in the mainline games is somehow better written as an ally than he was as a villain.
