Recently I had the chance to visit the newly opened Trident Hotel, part of Jon Baker & Steve Beaver's Geejam Collection outside Port Antonio, Jamaica. The luxury villa/hotel hybrid is located on the island's less touristy southeast coast and is a great spot to just get off the beaten path and lost for a few days (I know I did). 

I love the Geejam properties for a unique, luxury boutique honeymoon or babymoon. The owners are in the music biz, and recording artists are always passing through, so you never know, your neighbor just might be Snoop Dogg (or is it Lion now?) - he recorded his reggae album at the adjacent Trident Castle. 

The surrounding area is great for those who like more than just lounging on the beach - although these are great too. In the area you'll find rafting on the Rio Grande River, Boston Market, which is the home of Jamaican jerk chicken, and plenty of waterfalls to jump off and river caves to swim though.
