Hi! Now that we know the writers are in Vancouver, I'd like to send them a physical letter too. But I am not having any success finding an address. Do you know the studio name or anything?
Hi! Sorry for the delay in answering this. I actually just got another ask with this information, so I’m going to pass it along as is. I hope this helps!
Hi! Did you change the password of the TouchNote account? Can't log in :(
Hi! The password wasn't changed but it seems to need to be reset every so often, sorry about that. cards4Quentin should work as the password again. Thank you for the heads up and for your interest!

It just takes a few minutes to make sure your voice is heard. Help us continue Quentin’s story.
Quentin Coldwater’s story shouldn’t be over. Let’s show SyFy how important Quentin’s story is, and how much seeing a queer, mentally ill person live means to us!
Goals: To let SyFy know that we, the viewers:
care deeply about Quentin Coldwater
watched the Magicians in large part because of Jason Ralph’s nuanced and exceptional portrayal of a depressed, bisexual man
are concerned by the larger implications surrounding the Quentin’s death
feel strongly that Quentin’s story is not and should not be over
Ask from Syfy: Continue Quentin’s story actively and respectfully
Help us make our voices heard and do our best to ensure Quentin’s story doesn’t end here by:
Sending letters and/or emails to SyFy and their executives expressing your support for continuing Quentin’s story
Including a King of Hearts playing card in your letter
Including the hashtag #PeopleLikeMe in your letter and/or email
Sharing on social media to spread the word

Share the campaign on social media with the hashtag #PeopleLikeMe to spread the word!
Make sure to take a picture of your letter (with personal details blocked out) and/or your King of Hearts playing card to share to social media. Let’s make sure the showrunners know we’re taking this to the top!
Why the King of Hearts?
The King of Hearts is commonly referred to as the Suicide King because it is depicted with the sword going into the king’s head. The show decided to make this card symbolic of Quentin, even going so far as to specifically illustrate it to resemble him, so we’re responding by removing the card from our decks to show our rejection of Quentin’s death and putting the card, like Quentin’s story, into the hands of SyFy.
Join the #PeopleLikeMe Campaign and show SyFy that you care about Quentin Coldwater and don’t think his story should be over!
I made postcards for anyone who wants to use them. They’re in a downloadable PDF, 4 to a page, 5.5 x 4.25 inches. they can be printed two-sided, or just the front and the back left blank to be personalized by the sender.

This is a great way for people to take part in the symbolic removing of this card (to show our rejecting the narrative that queer, mentally ill lives should end in tragedy) without having to purchase cards or break up a deck.

The following are listed in order of where we think attention should be focused. If you only mail one letter, please mail it to Casey Johnson. But please send as many letters (and emails) as you’re able! (Just one of each kind per person, though -- we want to get their attention, not annoy them)
Here are some ideas to help with your letter. Don’t feel as though you have to include everything. Even just a short note saying that you’re part of the #PeopleLikeMe campaign and want to see Quentin Coldwater back on The Magicians is incredibly helpful!
Things to include:
Why you love the show
Why you love Quentin. Mention if you started watching for him
If The Magicians is what brought you to SyFy
How you watch the show (if you do so legally!) and any associated rituals (for example, “Every week, my partner and I sit down together to watch the episode through the SyFy Live site.”)
What will keep you watching (for example, “I look forward to continuing to be a loyal viewer should the showrunners make it clear that they will not be letting Quentin’s story end in his death.”)
The ways in which you engage with the show on social media if you tweet, write, or otherwise post about it, and if you follow official show accounts
That you’re sending this as part of the #PeopleLikeMe Campaign
If you can, include a King of Hearts playing card in your physical letter. (The show made this card, the “Suicide King”, symbolic of Quentin, so we’re removing it from our decks to show that we reject stories that end this way, and are placing Quentin’s story in the hands of the person receiving the letter in the hopes that they will do better with it!)
Remember that the people reading these are people too! Keep it positive, professional, and friendly!

Select from the address book the recipient(s) you want your card to go to.
Check the final product, pay, and send!
A few notes:
If you’re only sending one postcard, please send it to Casey Johnson! More details on how to prioritize who to send things to here.
We’ve included a sample message at the bottom of this post if you’re not sure what to say. Please feel free to use that, or change it if you want!

If you can’t afford to pay for the card yourself, that’s okay! That’s why others donate. If there aren’t any credits available right now, check back later or get in touch with us. If you’re paying with donated credits, please only send a postcard to Casey Johnson. Thank you!
If the site prompts you to sign up for a membership (the screen reads “want to be ready for every special moment?”), click the X in the top right corner.
This whole process should only take you a few minutes. Thanks for you for supporting Quentin as part of the #PeopleLikeMe campaign!
Sample note:
I care deeply about Quentin Coldwater and am very concerned about having a queer, mentally ill character's story end in him choosing to die. I feel strongly that his story on The Magicians should not be over. The show thrives on creativity and magic; if anyone can find a way to bring back a queer, depressed character despite impossible odds and give him a happy ending, it would be The Magicians. I hope you will help change this story for the better! - [Name]
Below is a sample letter you may use to send to Syfy expressing your support for seeing Quentin’s story continued. Please feel free to change it to best suit you, or to use it in full. Make sure to change the greeting and add your name at the end. Thank you for being a part of the #PeopleLikeMe Campaign!

Dear [Full Name]: (or “Greetings,” if name unknown)
I hope this letter finds you well. I am a dedicated SyFy viewer, and I’m writing to you today as part of the #PeopleLikeMe campaign to discuss The Magicians and the larger ramifications of the Season 4 finale.
Sera Gamble, John McNamara, and Henry Alonso Myers made the decision to permanently kill the main character, Quentin Coldwater, through what McNamara admitted was ambiguously a suicide, and to remove Jason Ralph from the cast. While losing a beloved character is always difficult, it is not that he was killed at all but rather how his death was handled and the implications surrounding it that concern me.
Quentin was a groundbreaking character because of his visible history of and struggles with mental illness and depression, and because he was a member of the LGBT community, having had romantic relationships with both male and female characters on screen. He represented “people like me” and gave many of us hope for the future.
Not only did Quentin choose to die; his friends were also depicted as better off because of his sacrifice. The show sent a harmful message to viewers, particularly in validating a common fantasy for suicidal people: that the world would be better if they were dead. This ending is not subversive or revolutionary; it is toxic, lazy, and plays into a number of damaging tropes. Queer, mentally ill people die young far too often in real life. We deserve a better ending to Quentin’s story: one where he lives past his twenties and does not die by his own hand.
I would like to see Quentin’s story continued actively and respectfully, in a way that makes it clear that a queer character with a history of suicide attempts choosing to die is not a good death. Unfortunately, Gamble, McNamara, and Myers have made it clear that they do not understand why so many viewers are concerned. I’m writing to you in hopes that you will recognize the importance of rectifying the harm that has been done, and that SyFy will choose to instead tell respectful and meaningful stories about and to marginalized people.
Despite Gamble, McNamara, and Myers using Quentin’s sexuality and disability to fuel tragedy, I believe there’s still hope. This is a show that thrives on creativity and magic; if anyone could find a way to subvert common, harmful tropes to bring back a queer, depressed character despite impossible odds and give him a happy ending, it would be The Magicians.
I have included with this letter the King of Hearts, which the show made symbolic of the character of Quentin. The King of Hearts is also known as the Suicide King. I’m removing this card from my deck and sending it to you to represent my rejection of stories that end with people like me choosing to die young. I’m putting the story, like this card, in your hands, and I hope you will help to change it for the better.
