your weird obsession with having a fully formed white picket fence found family who all speak like they've inhaled their therapist who you subconsciously want to be adopted into is ruining your ability to interact with the source material
Interesting mile-long fanfic/theorypost/xreader imagine! Have you considered using this button
It may look like a yummy Burger, but it is called a "read more"
All I want is to find a codywan fic that is Clone Wars divergent. No Jedi Cody, no Mandalorian Obi-Wan, no Sith Obi-Wan, no pregnant Obi-Wan (why are there so many of those) just a normal, canon compliant fic. THERE HAS GOT TO BE AT LEAST ONE. WHY IS AO3 HIDING IT FROM ME
I don't read longfic so if you're looking for that I don't have any recs, HOWEVER - we sound like beings of similar tastes so
Untitled Spreadsheet - PRIVATE by @literallyjustanerd (available on tumblr or ao3)
Cody makes a spreadsheet of interactions with Obi-Wan. Incredible ingenuity in making a fic that's a spreadsheet!
the dangers of (sleep) deprivation by @biscuityskies
Cody is sleep deprived. Mission fic where things go horribly sideways. With a very happy ending, of course.

He does it without thinking, at least it must be without thinking because even as he walks away, face obscured, the tips of his ears burn brighter than any star.
Or: Cody needs more intel. Cody gets more intel.
I Will Always Come Back To You by @snowywinterevenings
A series of scenes during the war where Obi-Wan gives Cody flowers.
Sounds like lighthearted fluff but is emotionally ruinous - this fic changed me.
recipe for a desperate kiss by me!
Ingredients:
- A successful campaign
- An elevator
- Two men who've got years of pining under their belts
Instructions:
Combine and let sit. They'll kiss. Just watch.
My series in the quiet moments focuses on some canonverse codywan kisses that define their relationship.
If you are open to no order 66 au's I have a lot of recs (and fics I've written) in that realm. Oh and also desert husbands. Lots of recs for that stage of canonverse codywan too. Also did not include anything smutty but if you want those I can readily rec them.

Obi-Wan Kenobi does not have “Catholic guilt” because he is not Catholic nor is he a part of a religion or culture that resembles Catholicism.
Obi-Wan Kenobi does not have “Catholic guilt” because he is not Catholic nor is he a part of a religion or culture that resembles Catholicism.
Putting the term "Catholic guilt" on a high shelf where fandom can't reach it until everyone learns how to identify characters who are very very clearly coded as Protestant.

I really wanted to draw something but I couldn’t think what, so I just doodled Padawan friends folding laundry.
Shout out to Young Jedi Adventures which depicts younglings in the Tenoo temple doing this widely beloathed chore so we know that Jedi do in fact do common household things instead of leaving it for droids and only ever practicing saber techniques. I appreciate that.
I think the reason I don't like the "Padawans as feral creatures" concept is because I don't really love the way it seems to present the Jedi (and all Force sensitive people, but Jedi in particular) as nearly animalistic.
I get that the concept is part of the idea of Jedi as more "eldritch" and making them seem more monstrous and inhuman than they usually are in canon. People like the Jedi being just that little bit uncanny and strange and even off-putting as a result of their connection to the Force. Star Wars is a fantasy in space and so people like sort-of upping the fantastical nature of the Jedi in particular. I understand the appeal.
But I feel like it often ends up presenting the Jedi not as ethereal beings who see the world through a lens no one else could understand, but more as just... one step removed from animals. ESPECIALLY the younglings/padawans who so often get referred to as "feral" these days, these little creatures who just go around biting everyone or crawling over everyone and everything just because they can with no sense of (or capacity for) self control.
And it just... doesn't work for me. I don't love making Jedi padawans into these little animal creatures that the Jedi can barely figure out how to tame. The Jedi aren't animals, they're people, and their children are no more "feral" than anyone else's children. And the padawans IN PARTICULAR are children that have been trusted to get sent out into the field, trusted to represent the Order and the Republic, trusted with people's lives if necessary. Yes, they're connected to the Force and this might cause a few behaviors that non-Force sensitive people would think is a little weird (like reacting to something just a little too quickly or knowing things they perhaps couldn't have known without help or being a little vague about why they think a certain plan is going to work and then it DOES), but it's not going to turn them into feral little creatures that can't be trusted to behave.
The Jedi are PEOPLE, they're not creatures, they're not animals, and it just feels like so few fans want to treat them like people.

May the gentle kiss of obi-wan kenobi heal your wounds. I tried something a little bit different with this one, I hope you like it!
I want you guys to all start making a bigger stink about Tumblr's Age Verification Horseshit.
Like they tried to change Reblogs and people rightfully got up in arms, this is a LOT worse. In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. And they can say "Oh shit, well it wasn't us who sent your name address and gender identity to Moldovan teenagers, here's a couple extra minutes in the ball pit.
That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Die Gedenken Sind Frie baby. This is all a reaction to people getting uppity about their lowly lowly rights and is being propped up by the same bad actors tht have made life unlivable. Fuck that shit.
"Well it's only being rolled out in Brazil and UK" Yeah, to start. "Well they're being forced to do this by laws." YOu know it's always really funny when these tech giants (Or whatever you call owning tumblr dot com) get really antsy about laws considering they pick and choose which ones they abide by.
This is a breaking point and it's going to be very interesting to see how we proceed from here.
"they're being forced to do this by laws" and tech giants in the USA are pushing to bring age verification laws to the US. The same lobbies are working overtime in the EU to get age verification going there too. AGE VERIFICATION IS NOT ABOUT PROTECTING CHILDREN, THEY ARE ABOUT CENSORSHIP, DATA GATHERING, AND AUTHORITARIAN CONTROL.

After all, experience outranks everything, and it didn't take long for the GAR clones to gain that precious experience first hand in the very start of the war, and diligently compiled it to educate those who will follow them.
Stop handing Palpatine's accomplishments to other people!
I’m a Palpatine fan. Not because I think he’s "misunderstood" or because the Jedi deserved what happened, but because he is unapologetically, deliberately evil—and he is terrifyingly good at it. I’m tired of people attributing his wins to everyone except him. It’s time we stop nerfing Darth Sidious just to vilify the Jedi.
The "Anakin Fell Because of the Jedi" Let’s be clear: The Jedi didn’t push Anakin away. Palpatine pulled him. He didn't just wait for the Jedi to mess up; he identified a traumatized kid and spent fourteen years grooming him. He inserted himself as the only "affirming" authority figure in Anakin’s life, slowly warping his worldview until he reached a breaking point. Then, Palpatine stepped in and offered him exactly what he wanted to hear. If the Jedi had somehow magically done everything perfectly to counteract a Sith Master's influence, would Anakin have stayed in the Light? Yeah, probably. But that doesn’t change the fact that Palpatine did it. Just because the Jedi didn't manage to counter everything perfectly—when they didn't even know they had an opponent until the final hour—doesn't mean they deserve the credit for Palpatine's hard work. Stop crediting the Jedi for Anakin’s fall; that’s Palpatine’s masterpiece.
The Propaganda Machine People act like the Jedi just stumbled into being hated through "arrogance." No. Palpatine made them hated. He orchestrated a galactic war where he controlled both sides, then maneuvered the Jedi into military roles that fundamentally broke their image as neutral peacekeepers. He allowed the public to get used to seeing them as armed generals rather than spiritual guardians. That wasn't an accidental optics shift; it was a masterpiece PR assassination.
The "If They Just Didn't Fight" Fallacy I hear this all the time: "If the Jedi hadn't fought in the Clone Wars, they wouldn't have died! Clearly, the Jedi fell because they had lost their way as peacekeepers." …do you seriously think Palpatine wouldn't have found a way to turn that situation to his advantage? If the Jedi had refused to fight, Palpatine wouldn't have just packed up and gone home. He would have weaponized their neutrality. Imagine the Holonet headlines: "Jedi Elitists Refuse to Defend Republic Against Former Member Count Dooku." He would have branded them as cowards, conspirators, or traitors who abandoned the galaxy in its darkest hour. The Clone Wars would have still happened, except the Jedi would be hunted by both the Separists and the Republic. The Purge would still have happened anyway; only the "why"(and "how") would have changed.
'He won because everyone played exactly like his script-' Things didn't go 100% to palpatine's plans in the prequels, he just was really good at adapting Naboo: The Trade Federation fumbled the occupation. Palpatine didn't panic; he still used it to seize the Chancellorship. Maul: His apprentice got cut in half. Palpatine just traded up for Dooku to fuel the Separatist movement. Mustafar: Anakin was supposed to be the perfect specimen, not a mutilated man in a life-support suit. Palpatine simply recalibrated and turned the "broken" remains into Vader.
Conclusion: Palpatine is a competent, ruthless tyrant who doesn't deserve to have his greatest accomplishments credited to the Jedi's "incompetence." Give that man some respect
