Unfortunately I don’t have an artfight primarily because I’m so scattered and still pretty new to the internet in general, I barely know how to use tumblr lol. I’ll most likely do it next year, though—I need to get into the community because it sounds fun!! I also need to post some of my newer OCs because the ones I have here are either my Murder Drones children or really old kiddos from last year…

I have answered a few asks about TADC because I know how important transfem Jax has been to a lot of people, and I don’t want to take that away from anyone, but I am very critical of the use of the song “Isn’t She Lovely?” being reclaimed as a coming out scene, when the original song was written by a Black man about the birth of his Black daughter. Keeping in mind the racism from some of the voice actors, and the lukewarm apology from the creator, it is very insidious to me to take a Black-specific song and reclaim it as something else. It very much feels like “taking Black art without caring about the bodies that made it.”
Obviously, this has already been pointed out by Black people in the fandom, but I wanted to bring it up because I’ve had a few asks about that song specifically that I’m not comfortable with answering. I am extremely happy that Jax is canonically transfem because even though I’ve never watched the show, I’ve witnessed people’s excitement about it, and I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade, but I’m also not going to pretend like the racism doesn’t exist because that’s not the kind of blog I’m running here. Any other song could’ve been used, and perhaps there wasn’t much thought put into its choice; I’m sure it wasn’t a deliberate act of malice, because from an outsider perspective that song seems to fit perfectly, but that ultimately doesn’t make it any less harmful, especially given the context surrounding the production.
I feel similarly about how United In Grief by Kendrick Lamar became a popular TikTok sound for people to make funny jokes about something going wrong when the original lyrics are specifically about Black grief. Or about the new trend of “the saxaphones are getting louder” taken from Boyz N The Hood, which is a movie about Black-American experiences that a lot of (white) people using this sound likely haven’t even seen.
I’m not saying it’s inherently bad to use these songs in different contexts, but it’s a pattern that keeps repeating of Black-specific art being taken by white people without the original context in mind and being used for their own experiences instead. It’s important to at least notice this pattern.
This place matters, and our goal is to keep Tumblr thriving for a long time. That means Tumblr has to keep evolving. There are things we know could be better. You probably have a list too. Some of it will be easy to fix. Some won't. That's exactly why we want to work with you.

unban all the trans women and all of the people who told you to stop banning trans women. you know you're wrong and you know you're doing this and banning people who talk about it for bogus reasons isn't going to make you look any less guilty.
it's not an accident or a mistake. I was being way too charitable. they banned me because I said "stop banning trans people" and then when I tried to appeal suddenly I get a ton of emails telling me that the (trans focused) harassment blogs I reported don't violate tumblrs TOS. tumblr is actively defending anti-trans harassment and hate speech blogs.
blow up these forms demanding the staff members responsible for corrupting the moderation team be removed. demand everyone wrongfully banned who didn't violate the TOS be banned and that a new moderation team be put in place to deal with the harassment groups.
tumblr is actively protecting the terf grooming community and bans anyone who draws attention to them. they banned my normal deltarune fandom @samptin account for exactly 1 post where i drew attention to a certain user that was cataloguing trans minors in a google document to be groomed and harassed and told me it was for "spam and harassment"
this is not them simply not allowing people to say "bad things about communities" as they allow blogs like this dedicated entirely and solely to harassing trans people and respond with the excuse, "we don't agree with them but it's not against tos" when they are reported.
I reported one of their communities and got this response;
and after sending them the following evidence of this communities behavior with grooming minors, posting violent content, and harassing people, my second account was mysteriously also banned.
(there's more evidence of stuff like this here, by the way. they're counting on the fact that the trans community tries to ignore them to get away with grooming and conversion therapy.)
they aren't simply neutral to this. they see the harassment and they see the grooming. they see these harassment communities and what they say and choose not to ban them.
someone in the moderation team is absolutely in on this. they have chosen to side with the individuals grooming and harassing trans people and promoting dangerous conversion therapy tactics.
do not let them get away with this. don't forget about this and don't let it die down. demand everyone on moderation be fired and demand them to actually act on their terms of service and ban all terf groomers and terf grooming communities.
blow up the comments and their contact forms demanding the terf grooming communities be dealt with, the wrongfully banned trans people and everyone who called out this behavior be reinstated and demand a real full apology and changed behavior.
Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people

my thoughts about Caine's model lacking many essential facial features (as if he was never intended to show any emotions) and yet him being literally the most expressive character in the circus despite everything.
me being low-key obsessed with the implications episode 7 left us with. Players questioning everything they've been told and Caine being in the center of it all.
Just to be clear, I do believe Caine is written as a sentient AI who is just struggling to understand humanity and everything that comes with it. And I think these thoughts about him faking his emotions are inherently wrong within a story. He's oblivious and desperate but not malicious. But couple it with the fact that he's been lying about many other things (so far I'm inclined to think it was for players' sake in his own eyes) and that humans have been suffering for a while dealing with a literal god that doesn't understand them... Well, I have a feeling that they will doubt his motives and literally everything they know, rightfully so.
The amount of attention this little comic received is a bit terrifying and overwhelming and seeing all the different interesting interpretations people come up with I just wanted to explain mine own a little better <3
