Season 18's Logline! (from Deadline):

In season 18, Charlie, Mac, Dennis (Howerton), Dee (Olson), and Frank (DeVito) are wrapped up in salvaging inheritances from a dead woman, surviving tent encampments and the great inside-outside divide between the haves and have-nots, withstanding job loss at the hands of workplace automation, embracing a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, questioning the fabric of society against conspiracy theories, and of course — the biggest elephant in the room — outlasting the public’s pendulum swing against drinking. Not to mention battling nerds, LARPers, and a particularly petulant McPoyle clan at the Renaissance Faire or sportswashing their way back into the good graces of their community by sponsoring a Little League team. All the while trying to maintain order in their personal lives and at Paddy’s, which have become increasingly lawless and erratic.

Deadline claims the Season will air at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on FXX, FX and Hulu. This seems to claim it will not only air on the West Coast simultaneously with the East coast, but that it will drop on Hulu at the same time as it airs on FX, which is very strange and doesn't seem correct.. but we shall see

I think the most alienating difference of opinion about Sunny for me is when I hear people talk about how they want it to end, and the leading hope/theory/ideal end is always along the lines of “they die” or “they get arrested” or “they lose the bar”

Of course I understand why that is, but every time I see a post like that it’s just like ..ah. ok. I have very different feelings.

#i'll be shocked if the gang ends up receiving any solid cosmic justice for their actions #i personally think death or jail or whatever would be kinda lame #and i know rcg said the ending was decided over a decade ago #but they've clearly gotten way more interested in doing actually serious exploration of the characters since then #so like #i'm willing to bet the ending they originally picked is un-serious and absurd #but i wonder if they've rethought whether they want to do more satisfying endings for the character arcs #bc the gang has gotten more depth in the past decade #idk. i don't want sunny to end but i also wanna know the ending so bad

Last night I dreamt that I had woken up in an intense panic, made a tumblr post saying something incoherent about Charlie Kelly's trauma, eaten a bunch of Tums, and then passed back out. And when I woke up for real, the tumblr post didn't exist, but my Tums bottle had infact been ravaged, proving that I had actually been sleepwalking. So I think if I can manage to lose my grip on reality just a teensy 🤏 bit more then y'all will get to enjoy me sleep-blogging about my nightmares as if they're Sunny episodes.

#i don't sleepwalk often and usually when i do it's to eat tums #(bc i've had GERD since I was like 8)#but occasionally i will do other random shit #anyways my brain has been in a particularly weird headspace for like a week so i've been sleeping weird #and this was the 2nd night in a row that I had a nightmare involving sunny and woke up to find that I had sleepwalked #to be clear sunny isn't the subject of the nightmares it's just like. a lense that i'm experiencing them through #but yeah if i post some nonsense about sunny at 3 am this will be why
