Lying awake late at night in your partner's stomach... You're not quite tired yet, but they certainly are. Their muscles have relaxed around you in their deep sleep, and their breaths echo around you, their upper body above expanding and contracting accordingly, slightly shifting the center of weight in the stomach, lulling you into a comfortable rocking motion. The faint sound of rainfall pierces the soft barrier between you and the outside world, complementing the calm ambience of your resting place. You press your hands against the plush, tender walls, and your loved one responds, though still unconscious, with a smile and a loving rub, as though your presence made its way into their dreams. This is the most peaceful place you've ever been; one with your significant other, together at ease in blissful safety. As your thread of thoughts reach their conclusion, you lie your head back against their pillowy internals, and ever... so... gradually... close your eyes...

🚨🚨🚨KOSA & other age verification bills being voted on in subcommittee TOMORROW 12/11
Long story short, there are about ~18 age verification/"child safety" laws being put into one big package in the House.
The House Energy and Commerce subcommittee that oversees these age verification bills are voting THIS THURSDAY aka tomorrow to pass these bills onto the full committee, and then the full House. We need to drive as much opposition as we can on these bills, specifically KOSA, the App Store Accountability Act, and honestly any age verification bill which many of these are.
This is how to do it and how you can fight back on age verification
1) Call the house representatives in the committee. Use a call script if you don't know what to say
You can do it two ways. You can either go to the subcommittee site and call each one here: https://energycommerce.house.gov/committees/subcommittee/Commerce
(scroll down, click their names, phone number is under their picture)
or you can use this call script to connect to members here: www.badinternetbills.com
you can use this call script too: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IyBUe6frFGF44rJQU3TahZ5zyG3tC7jai_hPneAKlnM/edit?tab=t.0
2) Spread the word! We need as much mass opposition as we can right now. So many stakeholders, policymakers, and politicians etc are looking at public opinion on these bills. We were able to stop them before because of the mass opposition, we need that again. Let everyone you know know. Spread the word!

My last post on calling reps ( has some of my own call scripts you can modify)

RED ALERT!!!! There is going to be a markup in the subcommittee on KOSA THIS THURSDAY!!!!!! (source below) Here is a list of all subcommittee members. Call as many as you can!! We need to drive mass opposition NOW. Message influencers. Post in all their comments that KOSA & worse is back. We need to drive mass calls before this vote. https://x.com/BenBrodyDC/status/1998516632176775647Ben Brody (@BenBrodyDC)

Details
KOSA [house version]
-omits duty of care, but there is no guarantee this stays gone
-no exemption for nonprofit entities
-yearly audits of platforms. could possibly include even really small ones, ex: mastodon instances, discord servers?
Reducing Exploitative Social Media Exposure for Teens (RESET) Act [DRAFT BILL] -prohibits kids/teens under 16 from maintaining socoial-media accounts
Sammy's LAW [H.R 2657]
-drastically increases surveillance of children
-leaves children MORE vulnerable to having their data and privacy violated -isolates LGBTQ children
App Store Accountability Act [H.R.3149]
-requires Age Verification at the app store level
-transmitting Age Signals to developers.
SCREEN ACT [H.R.1623]
-instates nationwide age verification for websites lawmakers deem "harmful to minors" -could include anything from porn sites to socmed, fanfiction sites or telecom networks. -forces websites to contract with shady 3rd party verification companies
-collects and stores our ID info like drivers licenses and passports in insecure databases -backed by far right politicians and anti-porn groups
Safer Guarding of Adolescents from Malicious Interactions on Network Games (GAMING) Act [HR. 6265] -seeks to add parental tools to help act as safeguards for children
-the issue is, it seeks to install said safeguards by default, and the legislation goes hand in hand with AV legislation
Parents Over Platforms Act
-Age Verification for apps
CALL SCRIPTS FROM BLUESKY
"
I'm calling today regarding the hearing for December 2nd in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on the package of 19 bills meant for "Online Child Safety."
The package itself includes harmful trojan-horse bills disguised under "Online Child Safety", which include:
The House's version of KOSA
COPPA 2.0
SCREEN Act
RESET Act Sammy's law
App Store Accountability Act GAMING Act
Safe Messaging for Kids Act
Parents Over Platforms Act
These bills are:
Massive breaches in privacy and the first amendment.
Show a complete misunderstanding of how the internet and encryption works.
Add more government-invasive surveillance online.
Put the lives of children and the livelihoods of adults at risk. (by collecting verification data into once place way to acquire all of it with a data breach)
will lead to mass censorship of legal content online and a chilling effect on the internet similar in effect to the UK Online Safety Act
Are extremely unpopular and don't protect kids.
Enable predators to take advantage of the established online systems to prey on children, especially those in power.
Please oppose these bills and vote "no" should any of them come to a vote before you."
My own Call scripts below cut
Republican version
“I am urging you to vote NO on the 19-bill online safety package in the House Energy and Commerce committee. Barely anything in this bill protects kids. Most of these bills are age verification bills, which Republicans and the president opposed in Britain for the fact it mass-censored conservative speech online.
and KoSA or (Kids Online Safety Act, as it’s deceptively called) is included that would be weaponized by unelected bureaucrats to censor Americans and you must wonder why Blumenthal is pushing it so hard. The bill let any state attorney general and the FTC to sue any website for “harmful” content. Including Blue States. Big Tech and credit card companies are already censoring us. That’s why they support KOSA. This is massive government overreach, Do NOT support this package. Thank you.”
Democrat version
“I am urging you to vote NO on the 19-bill online safety package in the House Energy and Commerce committee. Barely anything in this bill protects kids. Most of these bills are age verification bills, which hundreds of human rights groups including the ACLU oppose.
They require verification data be collected from children, which puts their personal data all in one place easily for hackers. A similar system has already caused problems in Britain, putting children at risks.
And the Kosa bill or (Kids Online Safety Act,) allows state attorneys to censor the internet. Do we really want Republican state lawyers deciding what can and can’t be allowed online? w need a bill that actually protects children by creating better security measures instead of more censorship and surveillance.
What parent would want their child’s private data in the hands of strangers like this? Do NOT support this package. Thank you.”
i made a checklist. If in florida. add Daren Soto to Democrats, he only listens to constituents
Republicans aren't the onlyones dick riding internet censorship bills, here is a list of all the Dems sponsoring KOSA which is one of the most damaging and dangerous anti internet bills in the US.
J. Hickenlooper- CO
A. Klobuchar- MN
B. Lujan- NM
B. Schatz- HI
M. Hirono- HI
G. Peters- MI
J. Fetterman- PA
R. Blumenthal- CT
C. Schumer- NY
M. Hassan- NH
M. Kelly- AZ
P. Welch- VT
R. Durbin- IL
C. Murphy- CT
J. Ossof- GA
J. Shaheen- NH
S. Whitehouse- RI
J. Reed- RI
T. Kaine-VA
M. Warner-VA
C. Coons- DE
C. Cortez Masto- NV
None of them should have a moment of peace until they drop sponsorship and oppose KOSA.
I've been seeing a lot less of these call-to-action reminders floating around, which isn't a good sign. I know it's tiring, but if we want to keep the internet free and safe, we need to keep the pressure on.
As always, the powers that seek to take our privacy and safety from us look to get the jump on us and give us little time to prepare. Which is why we now have a new call to action.
This thursday, 6/5/2025, the Senate Judiciary Committee will be holding a meeting for a possible markup on S. 1829, the Stop CSAM Act.
Once again, the bill's good intentions and emotion-grabbing title are yet another Trojan Horse for a bill that would seek to peel back privacy and protections for citizens under the guise of a noble cause. This bill's intent, supposedly to create further accountability and make internet services have further accountability, is masked by the potential harms it can do.
As this bill intends to cause damage to the currently assailed Section 230 by carving out an exemption for allowing lawsuits against services which might host this type of content (redundant as Section 230 already does not cover things that are a federal crime), and attacks privacy by destroying the coverage of end to end encryption in online services which offer DMs and messages like WhatsApp, Facetime, Signal, and others. Making them ripe pickings for anyone who might want to hack into and access peoples' private messages. Especially in the current political climate where the President wants to create a database on US Citizens and privacy protections are being tested more and more.
I urge you to call and write the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee before this Thursday, to warn them of the dangers of this bill and urge them to not allow it to pass through committee.
Section 230 is a law passed in the 90s that gave birth to the modern internet. Without it, the internet as we know it quite literally would not exist.
Gutting part of Section 230 is why there was a tumblr purge in 2018 which led to a domino effect of making the internet worse. This was written in SESTA/FOSTA.
Senators Dick Durbin (D) and Lindsey Graham (R) are introducing a bill that would “sunset” Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Section 230 is known as the “26 words that created the Internet.” It essentially allows websites to host users’ speech and engage in good faith moderation without being held legally liable for every post users make. Without it, platforms would have to choose between ducking lawsuits by pre-censoring "controversial" content or abandoning moderation altogether. Smaller, decentralized platforms like Bluesky, Mastodon, Signal, and Reddit would likely be tanked by lawsuits, while Big Tech companies like Meta, Google, and X would survive, solidifying their monopolies
There would be no more organizing protests like Tesla Takedown online, no more posting about abortion resources or trans healthcare, and no more independent media. With the Trump admin escalating attacks on immigrants, students, journalists, and protestors, we can’t afford to lose online organizing spaces and access to information. Tell lawmakers: hands off Section 230! (link below contains petition and more details on the law)
(I know it seems like pressuring congress doesn't work, but this is how KOSA was defeated 2 sessions in a row. IT WORKS.)
We all knew it was coming, and now it's finally here. As of 5/8/2025, Senator Mike Lee of Utah and Congresswoman Mary E Miller of Illinois have introduced to both the Senate and House what they are calling the "Interstate Obscenity Definition Act". To put it shortly, it's legislation intended to ban all forms of visual pornography and other NSFW content from the internet by amending the Communications Act of 1934.
This legislation has been introduced twice before, and both times it didn't progress very far. But with Age Verification bills and a war on NSFW content on the rise, this is not one to leave alone and hope it doesn't progress like the last times it was introduced.
The text of the prior bills as to how they intend to do this are to modify the Communications Act to disallow all forms of "obscenity" by defining it as follows:
"(38) OBSCENE; OBSCENITY.—
“(A) IN GENERAL.—The term ‘obscene’ or ‘obscenity’, when used in a manner or context that explicitly refers to, or could apply to, a picture, image, graphic image file, film, videotape, or other visual depiction, includes a picture, image, graphic image file, film, videotape, or other visual depiction that—
“(i) taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest in nudity, sex, or excretion;
“(ii) depicts, describes, or represents, an actual or simulated sexual act or sexual contact, actual or simulated normal or perverted sexual acts, or lewd exhibition of the genitals, with the objective intent to arouse, titillate, or gratify the sexual desires of a person; and
“(iii) taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."
This is a massive overreach and an attack on First Amendment rights of free speech and exchange of information on a scale that cannot be allowed in this current political climate. So I recommend that we get ahead of this while it's still in its infancy and let your representatives know without a shadow of a doubt that we will not stand for this.

Following here is a brief call or email script you can use to contact your representative and speak out against this egregious attack on your First Amendment Rights.
"This Bill [insert House/Senate bill number here] is a grave attack on our rights as American citizens to access content and speech which is guaranteed to us under the First Amendment. Whatever your opinion on prurient content or pornography is, it is a vast overreach of the government to try and take away our rights as American adults to access lawful content. A blanket ban will do nothing to solve the issues related to it, and trying to ban it outright will only drive the industry further underground and give more power to those who would try to continue the industry illegally.
The better option is regulation so that this content can remain lawful and observed to ensure that it only reaches those who are allowed to access it and ensure that those who produce it are both safe and fairly compensated. Rather than criminalizing those who produce and share it when the exchange is between legal and consenting adults.
I encourage you to vote NO on [insert House/Senate bill number here]."
This is another bill that’s super important!! Even if you don’t look at nsfw content, letting THIS government censor the internet in ANY way is catastrophic bc it’s a domino effect
Btw, Project25 wants to classify all lgbt+ material as porn
TAKE IT DOWN ACT passed, don’t let bills like this pass too

Look, always remember. Any sort of porn ban will be used to:
ban a variety of queer content (both trans and just other queer stuff)
ban certain health education content (especially on women's health)
create a precedent to charge minorities for any sort of content that will be argued to be then "pornographic"
will also very certainly create precedent to go against platforms like tumblr and AO3 and whereever you consume your favorite fanwork
will definitely also charge any depiction of "female presenting nipples"
Even if you think all porn is bad (you are wrong by the way), this stuff is never just about porn. Heck, chances are they would use such a law to in some roundabout way also prevent simple sex ed!
Here's a simple script for if you feel more comfortable emailing them.
Subject: Interstate Obscenity Definition Act
I am messaging to make a comment to Senator [THEIR NAME] about S.1671 aka the "Interstate Obscenity Definition Act".
My name is [YOUR NAME], and I live at (YOUR ADDRESS AND CITY]. I’m messaging to urge Senator [THEIR NAME] to vote "NO" on S.1671, aka the "Interstate Obscenity Definition Act." I care about this because:
-The wording is vague and do not do anything to effectively protect children
-The bill would infringe upon constitutional, legal expression made by consenting adults
-This bill would be used to censor speech and criminalize people under the guise of "obscenity", especially by the current Trump Administration
-It would push people and communities underground, making them more vulnerable to abuse
- [Anything else you want to add]
Please vote "No" and protect our rights.
Thank you,
