What's science without a little competition? Why, it's barely science at all! That's why we applied some science to The Lab and created the Appliance of Science Update, introducing a spirit of bloodthirsty competition to the world of ethically questionable research.

(Nothing too interesting unless you’re already playing it, just some tweaks to the game, addition of subtitles, higher quality dog petting etc.)

Here’s something interesting: one of the cartridges in ATLAS is labeled “HEV module”. We already knew the texture existed and was in the demo, but I’m surprised to see this is where it was used.

I’m going to attempt to find the textures for all of their cartridges, so hold on a second.

Is there an special order in which I should watch all your The Lab videos?

Umm…

I don’t think there’s a total order in which you’d want to watch them, I’d suggest having watched a playthrough of the whole thing first, though

-The hub announcer dialogue is very general, but there’s a lot of lines not shown in any recorded playthroughs I’ve seen. I’d recommend watching this first, maybe, since it isn’t from any particular minigame.

-The Robot Repair dialogue is that of both the announcer and GLaDOS, both in chronological order, so it doesn’t matter

-I’d recommend watching (for the two Core Calibration videos) the announcer before the tracer core. In addition, watch the personality core dialogue between the two if you haven’t already, this was uploaded ages ago and I didn’t need to do anything with it.

The awesome Brad Lynch has recorded a playthrough of Portal Stories: VR. The game will be released for free, on Steam, May 17th! :D

Speaking of VR, the virtual reality platform Riftcat just released an update that allows you to play SteamVR games, using a phone and something like a Google Cardboard as a headset!

(Probably a great cheap alternative for those who cannot afford a VR headset, just be aware that this won’t provide the quality that something like a Vive or Oculus can.)

It's here! And by that, I mean there's been a patch created by fans that allows The Lab to be played without a vive! (Of course, because it involves mouse and keyboard controls as an alternative, it's not perfect, I'm sure it'll be an interesting experience nonetheless!)
