What Will You Do?

We meditate on the things we can't control Planning and dreaming of a perfect ending forgetting all the warning signs we saw in the very beginning oh if only things were smiles and roses instead of unbelievable moments and the moral of the story is in the end the good guy always looses what hopeless mindsets we take and pessimistic activities we will partake the grass is greener on the other side we fail to see the color of the grass on our own side we have the power to change our minds and prevent our own demise the superhero may not save the day because that is up to you there is one question left to ask simply ask.... what will you do?

Waiting

If he only knew How hard I tried To change the world He'd beg to me mine But he isolated himself To ponder the things That plague his lonely mind I did all I could To change his world If there was something left to try Believe me I would I sit and wait and listen for the creak  of the childhood gate I just pray He won't wake to find That he is just too late.

Lover's Crime

My heart breaks in a thousand pieces and in a thousand different ways Before you know it There won't be anything left Call it a mistake Call it taking a chance Either way I've missed the dance No special line Will turn back time You're gone And I pretend to know What it means to be fine Guess this is where you begin And my fairy tale ends Where is that rosy lens I can't see so clear Out of fear of what lies ahead As I cry alone  In this cold bed They say it takes time But I don't know  If you can ever get over  A lover's crime.

Mirrors

I stared in the mirror  as the monsters began to play on my fears each one of them preyed an innocent victim forced to play their evil game of truth or dare charades each jab they took I felt the pain I knew they would not stop until I had been slain I laid so still waiting for the kill but I saw a burst of light and heard a voice that said "Don't give up the fight" each word they said I threw back at them instead until the monsters finally fled the darkness was no longer a friend and myself I had to defend out of the dark I climbed and told the tales of all I saw but no one believed me at all You cannot know what is hidden below or the secrets we all keep wishing to bestow we are all forced to fight our fights alone but if we listen and help each other we can fight through this together

Moments Shared

For each minute we spent I tried to not look ahead each word we shared I tried to act as if I didn't care but all along I treasured each simple moment shared the object of my affection but all my feelings I always failed to mention at a crossroads on a long broken road at a point in life that became do or die time I said I was leaving hoping that the silver lining you would start seeing all I ever wanted was being held in your hands I was waiting for your command a wonder that the stars have brought us here to a place of only lonely tears with each moment shared I try not to look ahead but focus on each minute shared instead and the very thing that has brought us here

Horoscope

The horoscope said these bad memories will haunt until I come to terms with the pain inside guess I gotta face em one by one but why do I have to do this alone just be strong and face your demons head on but I know I'm just not that strong everyday is a day by day maybe one memorie will fade today but what about the traces they leave behind deep scars are all scattered about what do I do with these their requests are hard to please you say just be strong face your demons head on but why do I have to hide these scars alone you can't see what these memories have done to me they are hard to forget memories they cling to me broken and torn you'll never see or that I've been weak since the day I was born they always said just be strong face your demons head on they never prepared me to face it all alone a partner in crime that phrase aint worth a nickle or dime there's never a partner to help you solve this crime so just be strong face your demons head on no matter what love cheers on the side while you battle with your mind there's no help line at the other end of this phone line this is something you must do alone

Lessons

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust it's the lessons we learn from the lost that makes the most of us left broken hearted and words unspoken to the free and departed we repeat to ourselves in hopes they will hear in their eternal place till we one day will meet them again face to face

A Simple Promise

It's hard to wait when an answer is all you want a yes or a no even a maybe would suffice the tears they roll the smiles are limited gray clouds is all that surrounds a sensitive heart that is in waiting so stand still and see His hand begin to work watch in awe as His glory and love unfolds so long ago but fulfills them still today as the tears begin to dry and cease and the smiles return from hiding the answer has been given the waiting is no more oh us of little faith if we ask He will answer our plea don't limit the Creator cause only He can please our troubled hearts in ways we will never see

Maker

When the trials of life

are pouring down

turn your eyes upon

the maker of the rain

when the waves

are crashing against you

turn to the one who can calm the seas

when the burdens of life

become to much to bear

give it to the one

who can bear them all

call on His name

and He will answer 

call on His name

He'll set you free

you'll not be alone

so rest your head

for your Father

will take care of this too

One Body

The body of Christ

has hands to serve

and feet to move

and one mind and heart

to guide

all essential parts

but I can't find them

in the body of Christ

during this time

I see the hands serving

just to gain some affirmation

I see two feet

who are running full speed

but the tracks they leave

cannot be seen

I see one mind 

that quickly tries 

to break the ties of all

churches far and wide

I see one silent beating heart

that is starting to break

deep inside

personal gain

is what it's after

to build the kingdom of heaven

but it won't make it through 

the dark rapture

so hands stop serving

feet stop running

and mind stop schemeing

because after all is said and done

all that matters 

is His precioius son

to save the lost

but we've shrugged

off the high cost

of loosing unsaved

and left them in sin

once upon a time

you were just a sinner

that was saved by grace

your high debts

your Father paid

to show favoritism

is to judge

but our Father

died for us all

how then can we leave them be

because they aren't like you and me

can't you see 

denomination is tearing us apart

but the body of Christ

we are all apart

there is one body

not two

not three

so let's get back

to the vision God

has for us

and see where it takes us

I'm sure we'll be 

stronger than before

united and strong

we'll finally be doing what we 

should have been doing

Great Actor

Apologize for being immature

I'll agree with that for sure

words are cheap 

you were always such a creep

It's all the same lines

in a sad little play

the only difference is 

your performance 

is on a different day

just different characters 

but still the same charade

they all just leave

and all that's left is 

another messed up me

all their lines

I stop believing 

cause I know in a minute

they will just be leaving

Freedom

We walk on this dark road alone

cutting ourselves to pieces

from the inside out

the screams we muffle

the cries for help we never make

the reasons why we're scared to face

there is hope at the end

there is another side

there is freedom from the secret

pains that we keep hidden inside

every day

we fight till we can't fight anymore

always wishing death will 

knock on our broken door

the courage we have

is the last thing we have left

the courage to fight

for the subconcious life

Hidden Girl

If you look into my eyes

and see into my soul

you will find a bruised and broken little girl

who in her only defense against the world

built these walls around her heart

to hid the pain

to hide the shame

of the mistakes she's made

the bruises that have been left to endure

the scars that remind her

of the times she was used

yes, she smiles

and yes she laughs

but alone in the dark

she cannot rest

she never smiles

she only weeps

for the brokeness she feels

but cannot seal

and no one knows the termoil that exsists

for this little girl 

she wants to scream 

but has no voice

Smile

A man on the subway

in the early morn'

a work-a-holic

is what his colleges

have adorned 

he's been misguided

and knows

no other way

he's left his wife

to awaken alone today

an old man steps on the train

and takes his seat

with much strain

the man looks up to see

the old man smiling

with a slight nod at he

a muffled grunt

is all that's returned

the old man just smiles

today is not the first time

he's been burned

bitter people

are out an about

but showing kindness

is what Christ talks about

tomorrow comes 

just as before

and another smile

is what this man

is waiting for

it's the only thing

that touches

him to the core

but today he gets more

the old man says "hello"

only to be met

with glares from this fellow

but deep down 

this man seeks

though he never speaks

to be treated with love

that's as pure as a dove

a year goes by

much the same way

until one day

the old man never showes

and this man 

hits his all time lowes

in the paper

is the old man

from the earth

he's been ban

in heaven 

he'll rest from above

while this man

is finding this news tough

never again will

he find the man

to smile at him

whenever he can

tears fill he's eyes

as he sighs

he looks ahead

into the eyes of a boy

who looks unfed

he gives him a smile 

that's misunderstood

the gesture had meaning

but this boy isn't 

interested in feeling

the world has 

shown him to hate

and now it seems 

it's too late

but no my friends

a smile mends 

hurting people

even though

it's not under a steple

show Christ's love

take your example

from the old man above

he showed his kindness

to a bitter man

who eventually 

learned to love.
