Every now and then the ghosts of the past come back for one last haunt before it retreats back to its sleep.
Once again literature and poetry is considered traditional and alternatively conservative. So I’m back now.
I Forgot
I forgot how awesome people truly are
rather if they are traditional or not
if they are male, female or neither
my eyes have been closed for far too long
as to the memories of those souls who have awakened my own ~ Henry Vasquez
Astral Projection Study 1 (unreleased wattpad excerpt)
One night I was sleeping in my bed when suddenly
I left my body and gently rose out. I floated towards the ceiling and could hardly see anything. I turned around to see my physical body still in this silhouette of a figure shape. I then tried to leave my room but did not out of laziness. When I was in the astral plain I learned that anything down on earth did not matter, not any wars, political agendas or anything else tied to the earth. I also felt ageless I was just me. I do recall my energy fitting with my current life and the personality that came with it. An essence of how I felt about my persona. I remember gently floating back into my body as I compared it to a leaf falling on a car windshield to a cousin. When I came back into my body that’s what was most important. I then suddenly recalled my next life mission and why I chose music. I could feel an understanding of all my previous life missions of this lifetime in my body. (Also by the way I chose music to uplift humanity) I could even feel a sense of a happy and peaceful completion with old friendships and knowing that my soul or essence was going into a new cycle of connections on earth.
Open mindedness - Henry Alex Vasquez
To be clean today is to be punished in modernity
Extreme values and lack of poshness or love of glamour
How can one truly be liberal if traditional roots can’t be implemented
Socialism never survived in hippie days
How does it survive today
To be open minded today does not have to be reckless
The understanding of being a stiff does inspire progress
But progress should be easy to convey in thought
"It's not just the books under fire now that worry me. It is the books that will never be written. The books that will never be read. And all due to the fear of censorship. As always, young readers will be the real losers.” -- Judy Blume
For Banned Books Week, we're celebrating an author who has stood up for the freedom to read for over fifty years -- Judy Blume! The beloved author of many Mighty Girl favorites such as "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret", "Deenie", and "Tiger Eyes," Blume has been writing children's and young adult fiction for decades. But what her many young fans rarely realize is that her frank discussion of topics like religion, puberty, and sexuality in these books -- the same honesty that makes them so appealing to young readers -- has made her one of the most frequently challenged children's authors.
Even as a relatively new author, though, instead of bowing to the criticisms, Blume persisted in writing openly and honestly about issues affecting young people -- and speaking up for authors, teachers, librarians, and others who face disapproval, insults, and even the loss of jobs and careers because they refuse to remove books from the hands of young readers. As such, she has become a champion for children's freedom to read -- and authors' freedom to write -- about topics that some find controversial.
Banned Book Week is an annual event which celebrates the freedom to read and the highlights the value of free and open access to information. In honor of Banned Books Week 2021, we are proud to present our tribute to Judy Blume's career, both as an author of many beloved Mighty Girl books and as a determined and forceful voice against censorship and book banning. In a time when Blume's books still face challenges, her experiences combating censorship -- and her powerful words about the value of making complex and daring books accessible to kids -- are more important than ever.

Over the years I Henry Redquill Vasquez have been living under a pseudonym my real name has been changed for personal reasons. Today marks the end of an old age for me where values have changed. As of today I will now address myself as Henry Alex Vasquez including all future works and projects for more personal but progressed reasons. This is my new story. This is a permanent decision.

Your value, not determined by your bricks of gold
Your value shaped by the good natures
To be glad of Caesar
Is to be glad of progressives

This is new sound

“There are chords in the hearts of the most reckless which cannot be touched without emotion. Even with the utterly lost, to whom life and death are equally jests, there are matters of which no jest can be made.”
— Edgar Allan Poe, from “The Masque Of The Red Death”, ca. 1842

Cobblestone- “Henry” Vasquez
The fog lays in thick sheets
Sounds of screams ring in the buzzing of spectral hums
She walks down the tracks,mangled
In a daze
Crooked posture
Her widow hair in a bastardly frizz
Out of frame
She hides her existence
But she swings,sways and follows
Follows
follows as she torments her accuser of their sin
The demon of passion
