National Coming Out Day: "Letting In"

Coming out can feel like a burden sometimes.
Choosing who to tell, how to tell them, whether it's safe or not. It's exhausting, and it starts to feel like work or labor…all the uncertainty.
That's why I like the term ‘letting in’ instead of coming out. It sort of flips the script. Coming out, to me, feels like you have to push yourself out into the world and decide whether you're ready to come out to a specific person (or everyone all at once!) and whether they're ready to receive what you have to say.
Letting in, to me, is like deciding who I'm okay with getting to see this vulnerable side of myself, with this part of myself that I might still be exploring or not totally sure about.
It might feel like a distinction without a difference to some people. If you still want to use the term coming out or if you prefer letting in;
or maybe for some people you're talking about coming out to,
and other people you're letting them in to see the vulnerable side of yourself…
…you don't owe disclosure to anyone.
That's what letting in tells me. I have the ownership over my story. I get to curate my truth, my identity, and who sees me for who I really am in my full queer self. So, if coming out feels heavy today, maybe try thinking of it as letting in.

Tracking habits creates awareness that leads to improvement. Monitor progress, but focus on consistency over perfection.

Habit change is a slow process of small tweaks iterated over time. Make tiny changes and build momentum. Don't quit at the first sign of struggle.
🤝The Role of Community
Surround yourself with people who have positive habits. Leverage accountability partners. Make habit change social.

Focus on building diligent habits over talent. Maintain high standards and emotional commitment to fuel motivation.
💯Avoiding Extremes
Allow for flexibility and balance in habits. Habits support but don't fully define your identity. Moderation helps habits last.

Sibuknya orang bekerja adalah idaman para pengangguran.
Luangnya waktu orang yang menganggur (unemployed) adalah idaman orang yang sibuk bekerja.
Jabatan tinggi mungkin idaman seorang "bawahan". Padahal, terkadang orang dengan jabatan tinggi pun 'lelah' dengan jabatannya karena terlalu banyak tekanan hingga akhirnya pun resign.
Kulit putih mungkin idaman orang berkulit coklat, padahal kulit coklat sawo matang adalah idaman orang berkulit putih.
Tubuh yang langsing adalah idaman orang gemuk, sebaliknya tubuh yang berisi adalah idaman orang yang kurus meski keduanya pun sama-sama berjuang keras untuk mendapatkan tubuh yang diinginkan.
Memang, ketika sudah memiliki sesuatu hal, seringkali lupa untuk mensyukuri yang telah dimiliki.
Rumput tetangga memang selalu tampak hijau hingga tak menyadari bahwa di depan mata tumbuh bunga yang bermekaran dengan indah.
Pada dasarnya, kebahagiaan hanya soal perspektif. Tanpa sadar, kebahagiaanmu diukur dan dipengaruhi oleh pikiranmu, ekspektasimu, opini orang lain, atau bahkan sudut pandang diri sendiri maupun orang lain.
Padahal, kita dapat menemukan kebahagiaan yang tersembunyi, jika mampu melihat dari berbagai perspektif. Ya, besarnya masalah tergantung pada sudut pandang orang yang melihatnya..
