Haisai.... is there a term in the nonhuman community or anything adjacent for feeling like you were once close friends/relatives with a nonhuman creature and thing?

I speficially have this attachment towards oarfish and I compared it to a copinglink for the longest time but I've never actually felt LIKE it, more of i feel like I KNEW someone who was an oarfish. I look at them with longing of someone I've forgotten, like a found family member who has raised me.

I may not be new to being an alterhuman but I am gosh darn new to so many terms that have emerged over the years so plz help me!!!

If you heavily relate to oarfish, it might be other hearted since I've heard other people describing it as something relating to family, rather than identifying as one. Or it could also be a paratype, which is a connection that you have with something close to an already established identity without it being one? If it's neither of these, then I'm not sure.

i'd second otherhearted. i often describe it as feeling like whatever the thing is is a member of my family or an acquaintance so close it feels like i wouldnt know how to live without it. Like it is part of me, but in the way a family or friend is a part of me. but if it's stronger than that - like you feel like you knew a specific person - that's not something ive heard described before. would be interested to see what others can weigh in if it's the latter
