Taking a step back to create distance between the two of them, Echo continues to hold an apologetic look at the woman with Lilac hair that was highlighted with an electric blue that suits her well. Relieved when she says that she is good, just startled, a valid feeling to have when unceremoniously crashed into.
“I'm glad you're okay,” Eck says, genuinely before she mentions that her hat was missing, Echo takes his blue eyes off of her looking around on the ground to help her find it, only for her to find it first on the ground in between them. She begins to mention the rule about identifying clothing and hair, and Echo stifles a laugh a little, a humored smile curving on his lips when she takes a moment seemingly to look him over. He shakes his head at her question before responding.
“Nah, see despite everyone saying that - I learned that if the cops want to arrest you enough, it doesn't matter what you are wearing. They will still track you down and arrest you.” Echo spoke with experience as it had happened to him before, and after that - he stopped caring about what he did or did not wear. “My name's Echo, by the way,” he says as he holds out his free hand for them to exchange a hand shake and without looking with his other hand he ends the live to protect the woman's identity before asking. “What's yours?”
"Okay, I can see the reasoning behind that," She told him, nodding her understanding as she rose back up onto her feet. "Though that doesn't mean you should make it easy for them."
Dis certainly had tried not to, having picked out the plain black hoodie and joggers she usually threw on for early morning walks and late night trips to the corner store. All one color, no logos, plus it would give full coverage once she took the jacket she currently had tied around her waist and zipped it up over her undershirt. She’d even gone without her usual collar, despite how naked it made her neck feel.
"At least, that's what a friend of mine told me when she was giving everyone advice on what to wear earlier. 'If they're going to try and book you for some bullcrud, better make them work for it.'" She quoted, before pausing and giving a sheepish smile. "Well, she might have used a different word than 'bullcrud'."
Stretching out her own small hand, she joined him in the handshake. "I go by Dis. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."
“You should definitely listen to your friend's advice,” Echo says with a chuckle, “I like to defy rules and do my own thing, but it’s safer to be as unidentifiable as possible.” He admits, as he would never advise anyone to follow in his footsteps, he made the choice willingly knowing the kind of trouble he could land himself in. Even live streaming Echo was exposing himself, anyone could be in the stream tracking him down looking for an opportunity to strike. It happened once before, with the people that kidnapped him, but he had yet to have a cop track him down due to his social media - but that didn’t mean it was impossible.
“It’s nice to meet you, Dis,” Echo says with a smile and then is curious about how many protests she has been to and so asks. “How many protests have you been to?” Wondering if this was her first time - or if she was as experienced as he was and had been to multiple. “I have been to at least a dozen and most of them remain peaceful, there’s only been a few times the cops have really gotten involved further than just hanging around.” He assures her, hoping to put any worry she may have for him at peace. Echo didn’t think that this would be any different today, but it was never good to assume, the company they were protesting might not be happy that they were out there calling them out and want to take more drastic measures. “If anything does happen, stick close to the group, or come find me, I will be easy to spot in the crowd. Though I am sure you can take care of yourself, it’s better that everyone sticks together.”

Lorraine had just started to work at the strip club. The diner wasn’t enough for her dream not to mention it would help her stay balanced on top of ballet practicing on the side. She was overworking herself to the point of exhaustion, but she was gaining more money that wasn’t her rich family’s money.
On break she decided to sit at the bar still in her stripper outfit not really being allowed to change until after her shift was over. That was when she noticed someone else. Lorraine turned expecting it to be a customer, but surprisingly it was another employee. She smiled a little looking at the other,” hey…are you on break too?” She asked curiously with a warm smile looking at the other.
“Shit…I’m sorry my name’s Lorraine by the way,” she added deciding to greet the other young woman. Trying her hardest to be friendly even though she was exhausted.
The club pulses with a loud, rhythmic bass that echoes off the walls, neon lights in shades of red, violet, and electric blue bathe the room in a sultry glow, casting dancing shadows across the velvet-lined booths and polished stages. The air is thick with the scent of perfume, spilled liquor, and anticipation. At the heart of the room, a large circular stage dominates the space, complete with chrome poles that stretch to the ceiling. Dancers move with practiced grace, catching the light with every twist and flick of their limbs. Smaller side stages offer more intimate performances, while private rooms promise even more exclusive encounters behind velvet curtains. The crowd is a mix—suits unwinding after long days, couples chasing a thrill, and regulars who know the names of every dancer. Bartenders in tight attire serve up cocktails with a wink, and the sound of laughter, catcalls, and clinking glasses fills the air. Sitting at the bar on her break is a scantily clothed brunette drinking a glass of ice water to hydrate, the lights glimmering off the sheen of body glitter that covers her from head to foot. Elenora Alric places the cup down in between her hands, not fully placing it on the table, staring off in the distance at the wall of liquor behind the bartender without actually looking at it. It was always her dream to be a dancer, but Nora had dreams of being in music videos and musicals, or on Broadway.
Though she was still young, she never accomplished those types of dreams, getting into the world of exotic dancing because deep down she believed that was all she was truly good enough for. Nora was not meant to be those other things, they wouldn’t let her in on talent either, but out of fear and she didn’t want that - she wanted her talent to be the reason that she got a place. More often than not Nora considered changing her name, or coming up with a stage name, but she wasn’t creative enough to think of something. Even as a stripper, she allowed the owner to give her a stage name that she just rolled with; Velvet Monarch, and that wasn’t appropriate for a professional setting.
A voice speaking to Nora breaks her out of her thoughts and she looks over to another dancer, giving a soft friendly and welcoming smile replying with a light Italian accent. “I am, si.” A soft giggle leaves her lips as she brushes her long wavy brown hair behind her ear as the other apologizes and gives her name. “I’m Nora,” the brunette introduces herself to Lorraine, “it’s nice to meet you. How is it that I have never met you before?” Nora asks, though it could have been probably easily explained that their shifts had never aligned before tonight, she for sure would have remembered meeting the beauty before tonight.

"Okay, so I've picked up a stack of the fliers we're meant to be handing out, plus got some extra sign up sheets for the petition... You've got your water bottle any everything?" Dis asked her roommate, not bothering to look up as she went through the papers she'd been given by the protest organizers.
"Of course~ Plus, I made these fabulous signs for the girls and I to carry." Jesse said, holding up the hand painted picket signs and banner she'd been juggling on their way over from where they'd parked a few blocks south of where the riverwalk started.
"You mean Noi made them and you offered to bring them in your car since she or Brandi don't have one and Summer wasn't coming." Dis said knowingly.
"Well, I did help. She's just the better artist so she did the important bits." The taller girl smiled, unabashed. "So, you want to meet up with them before you do your shift at the booth?"
"No, I'll join you guys later at the spot we talked about. Have fun and stay safe okay?"
@distoretion “Hey everyone, today we are at Silverpine Park getting ready for the riverwalk. We are here to protest Summit Edge Industries who want to buy some of the park and build their office here - they are known for doing this in other cities and states and for dumping their waste into the local rivers making the water inhabitable for the wildlife and undrinkable to all.” Echo Noble says speaking into his phone that rests in a selfie stick, On his head the brunette is sporting a pair of blue and white wolf ears with a matching tail that is secured around the waist of his skinny jeans through the belt loops and covered by the blue and white checkered belt. It is while he speaks that a pair of acrylic fangs that are covering his normal canines can be seen. He is wearing his battle vest as normal and underneath a mesh skin tight fishnet shirt.
Comments from the live broadcast on tiktok fly across the screen some sharing the hashtag #saveourwater, while others who may have tuned in late are asking what Eck was there to protest, and of course there were the trolls - who he didn’t even bother to read the comments of, his mods on the other hand were taking care of it all and they had their work cut out for them as they always did. “The plan is to keep the protest peaceful,” he says after reading one question that asked if there was going to be any violence or riots, it was a bait question of course. Someone was looking to rile him up, but Echo was used to people like that. Grabbing his backpack from out of the trunk he slides it onto his shoulder and grabs the water bottle and shows it to the viewers. “This water bottle is our pro for the day, I will not be drinking from it but it is water from our lake now,” he explains and grabs another water bottle that is filled with a murky brown water and shows it to the camera. “This is water from another river that Summit Edge Industries has dumped into.” Comments flew again most of them saying it looked disgusting, sharing the hashtag again, and of course a few trolls telling him he should drink it, or that they would drink it. Once more Eck ignores them, allowing the mods to handle those assholes, then a comment pops up as he closes the trunk and is about to set out.
‘Apparently you need another lesson about the consequences -’ it was deleted before he could finish reading it, but Eck could finish the rest of the sentence himself. Someone was now trying to scare him by bringing up when he had been taken captive and tortured for ruining the lives of people that did terrible things. As he stared at the screen, trying to shake off the memories in shock that it was brought up he collided with another figure and stumbled back a little.
“I’m sorry,” he apologizes quickly the jolt enough to knock him out of his mind upon realizing he had bumped into someone. “I wasn’t paying attention, are you alright?” Echo asks, his eyes no longer on the phone or paying attention to the live comments as he focuses on the woman he had just run into.
Dis was making a beeline for the sign in booth when something knocked into her from the side, sending her stumbling to regain her footing.
Coming to a stop a few steps later with the now crumpled fliers clutched to her chest, she let out a sigh of relief and half turned towards the person busy apologizing to her.
“Yeah, I, I think I’m good, just a little startled,” She replied, her tone changing to mild surprise when her electric blue highlights fell in front of her eyes. “Oh, wait, my hat’s missing…”
Looking around a few seconds and spotting the hat that had been hiding her distinctive lilac and blue hair on the ground between their feet, she shifted her papers beneath one arm and began crouching to retrieve it.
“I know identifiable clothing or hair like this isn’t advisable for protests in case things turn ugly, but-,” she began, stopping as she finally looked up properly at the person who’d run into her. Staring for a second or two, a smile quickly grew on her face at the sight of his ears and tail. How cute. “Although you’re not worried about that from the looks of things, are you?”
Taking a step back to create distance between the two of them, Echo continues to hold an apologetic look at the woman with Lilac hair that was highlighted with an electric blue that suits her well. Relieved when she says that she is good, just startled, a valid feeling to have when unceremoniously crashed into.

Closed starter for @poisonedgeekie between Adam and Rosco
Out in the forest was supposed to be relatively safe. Most of the infected were in the cities, not out in nature. But Adam supposed nowhere was truly safe anymore. Even out in the woods, there were a few stragglers that were dangerous. Especially when they could catch you off guard because they weren't in a hoard.
If it was just one, Adam could probably fight them off, but there was a whole group of infected that had apparently been camping when they were bitten and just never left their tents. Adam had foolishly checked the campground for any possible supplies left behind, thinking only about what he might find that could help him, not hurt him.
There were 5 or 6 infected chasing him through the woods now, and he was just started to think he might outrun them, their growls fading into the distance. He made the mistake of looking behind him to check while still running, not paying attention to where he was going. That's when his foot hit the trigger and a rope tightened around his foot.
Before Adam knew what was happening, the snare trap pulled tight, hoisting him in the air by the ankle. It was quick and violent, and Adam was worried it might have dislocated the joint in his ankle as he winced in pain. He was already in bad enough shape, he didn't need this added to his body's complications.
"Shit!" he hissed, dangling upside down from a tree as the infected started to gain on him now that he was stationary. At least he was high enough up that they couldn't reach him. Still, he needed to find a way out of this trap and fast, or the blood would rush to his head and he would pass out. If that happened, he was as good as dead.
Deep in the heart of a forest the trees part where the golden glow of light from the sun spills in is an opening, the ground here is soft with layers of pine needles and moss, and a gentle slope leads down to a crystal-clear stream that murmurs over smooth stones. Around the edges, towering pines and silver-barked birches stand like silent guardians, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. In the center of the opening is a flat patch of earth where a tent is pitched with a natural ring of stones nearby—where there is an inactive campfire.
Wildflowers dot the edges of the clearing, and the air is fresh with the scent of cedar and damp earth. Birdsong echoes faintly above, and the occasional rustle of a squirrel or deer in the underbrush reminds Rosco D’Elia, he’s not alone—but in a peaceful, soul-settling way. The zombie’s rarely came out this far, and if they did the birds would not be singing their songs- in fact the woods would have been eerily silent if danger was lurking.
A metallic zipping sound comes from the front of the tent, the fabric wrinkling as it opens and a male with shoulder length dark brown hair wearing black combat boots, dirty and ripped dark blue jeans, a dirty white t-shirt that’s covered by a pleather jacket a crossbow strapped over his shoulder blade steps out, zipping the door back up before setting off into the woods. Each footfall was precise, avoiding to step on any sticks as Rosco makes his way quietly through the trees keeping his eyes and ears aware of his surroundings.
Twenty feet from his campsite, the woods suddenly goes silent - in a way that makes the hair on the back of Rosco's neck stand up and he feels unsettled. Now, there was something dangerous out there. Keeping a hand on his crossbow, the brunette moves slower and is even more careful about the noises he makes. In the distance he can hear a growling noise that signals a zombie - what were they doing this far out? He could have left them alone to wander off on their own, but with them there that meant that he would have no luck hunting any food for the day.
Following the noise, keeping low and behind the trunks of the trees as he rounds one he sees the issue. A man is hanging upside down from one of his trip wires he put out for hunting and the zombies were trying to get to him.
Shit.
Lowering his crossbow from his arm, Rosco takes arm before letting the arrow fly free and strikes through the head before preparing another arrow. The silence the arrow brings does not catch the attention of the other, and takes it down just as easily as the last. With both the creatures felled, he steps out into the open retrieving his arrows. Pulling out his hunting knife he walks around the tree from which the other hangs, going to where the rope is anchored.
“Not gonna hurt ya,” he informs the other grabbing the rope and cutting it free before slowly lowering him down. “You alright?” Ro asks hoping so, that way the two of them could go their separate ways. He keeps his knife gripped in his hand, just in the off chance the guy wants to do something stupid and attack him.
"That sounds like a you problem," Atreyu says with little to no empathy looking at the thing with a wrinkled nose that he sticks up into the air with a huff of indifference. "Great, perfect have a wonderful night, don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out...if you even have one." The imp says harshly with a click of his tongue. Feigning another offended gasp, this time he places his hand to his chest, his shirt still soaked from the rain. "Rude!" Atreyu exclaims, "I don't come into your house and make nasty comments, didn't anyone teach you any manners?" From looking at the creature, it was likely not and that wasn't a surprise at all to Attie. However, when the other says that he too is just looking for shelter from the storm, Yu-Yu lowers down his guard. Thinking this meant that the other had no intention of trying to kick him out either. The wind began to howl outside and he could hear the rain pelt against the walls and the boarded windows, the blinding of lightning shining through the cracks and lighting up the cabin. "Fine, you may stay until the storm passes," he says acting as if he had the authority to grant the permission instead of the other way of the creature allowing Atreyu to share the space with him. "My name is Atreyu G..." he stops himself before giving his last name and stops, where as this was a sense of pride for him to be a Graves, this was no longer the case. He swallows and turns his yellow eyes away to the floor clenching his jaw as he separates himself from his father....from his entire family. "Just Atreyu, and you are?" The imp asks as he looks back up to the other.
"You speak of manners as if you have any yourself...." The fae rolls his one good eye. If he had the ability, he would have shown him what for already, but he was too tired and weak, only just barely able to speak at all.
He was almost positive the other was in some sort of situation, given he was in this abandoned place too... but that gave him no right to treat him like trash. He had just escaped a terrible situation, as if he'd tolerate being treated like less ever again.
At least he was stupid enough to give him his name. That was all the security he needed. "Atreyu." He repeated, testing the validity of the name. He could feel the spark of magic on his tongue. He wondered if the other would be sensitive enough to feel what he'd just done, not that it really mattered in the end. Some might feel a fluter in their heart, some might feel it in their stomach, or a tingling sensation throughout their limbs, there were so many ways it could manifest itself in any given person.
"You may call me Peter." Amin would never give out his real name again. That mistake had cost him dearly.
“My manners?” Attie shoots back with an offended look, “I believe I have been perfectly civil to you, allowing you to stay in my cabin instead of kicking you back out into the storm.” Pointing to the door almost as if on cue the wind howls and the rain begins to pelt against the cabin walls harshly, his head turned in the direction the imp swallows with wide eyes glad he had found the shelter in time and walked right into this predicament - it was coincidental that he just happened across another and doubled down on his claim because of his own fear of being cast back out - at least he learned one thing from the exchange; the cabin did not belong to the other either.
Perhaps it was the weather that made his heart flutter around the same time the other repeated his name that drew Yu-Yu’s attention from the door back to the one that introduces himself as Peter. “Luckily, Peter, we only have to endure each other’s company tonight,” he didn’t know - nor care how long the other would need to take to pull himself back together (if he could that was). Atreyu could teleport in the morning and go wherever he wanted to restart his life - this whole nightmare would be behind him in the past that he would no longer have to think about. He didn’t quite know what he was going to do just yet, but told himself that he would figure it out.
Right now, Atreyu was exhausted and sore, he just wanted to curl up in whatever bed was in the cabin and cry until he passed out. Hopefully the storm would cover it up, or that the room (if there was a room) was far enough away so that Peter would not overhear him. “I’m going to bed now,” he announces, finally taking a proper look around in search for a sign of where a room could be. There were no stairs but on the other side of the living room area was a door. Acting confidently as if he knew for sure where he was going and what he was doing, the imp walks around Peter giving him a wide berth, having to hold his nose as he closes the distance and the stench gets worse.
It was almost enough to make him nauseous and Attie throws up a little in his mouth and swallows it, his eyes tearing and burning up as he reaches for the door knob desperate to put a door between them only for him to have opened up to a small little bathroom fitted with a toilet, sink, and stand in shower in the corner. “I just…have to go to the bathroom first,” he says quickly to cover himself as he hurries inside and closes the door behind him. With the door closed, Atreyu leans forward, lowering his head, hand firmly planted on the wooden door as a wave of emotions bubbles up and a broken noise leaves his lips before he can catch it and hold it back.

OOC: NEW MUSES HAVE BEEN ADDED
The thing that greeted him was far from being a person, its arms were missing and the legs that hung from the lower part of the body rotted, which is where the smell had come from. It was something like him, inhuman and different. Attie in other circumstances would have been delighted to meet something else like him, but tonight, instead he was not in the mood for niceties after what happened to him.
“Excuse me?” He began in an offended tone, looking over the creature with a scoff as its soft voice barely carries over the loud storm going on outside. “Don’t you move any further! This is my cabin!” Atreyu lies, hoping that he could scare the other off by claiming that he lived there. “Who are you, what are you doing in my house?”
"Does it look... like I can move?" Amin asked, his tone about as deadpan as the look on his face. By this point, he'd fully disconnected himself from the legs. "By all means... let me just walk out of here... with no legs."
He took another brief look around with his one usable eye. "If this is your cabin.... you really let the place go." The fae wasn't sure he believed the other. He was almost sure the place was abandoned from what he did see when there had still been more light in the place.
"I am just someone looking for shelter.... Do I really look like I want to be in this dump?" He asked, eyebrows raised. "May I have the name... of the owner of this place, then, so I may... address him properly?"
@amused-bouche
A deep, rolling rumble stretches across the night sky; like the sky itself was splitting apart. A flash of light strikes down towards the trees lighting up the forest as a small red pop of light and dark red skinned male appears as the rain begins to pour from overhead. Atreyu Graves is still dressed in his pajamas and trembling from head to foot - not from the cold weather but from what he had just escaped from. Standing there in the rain that begins to soak through his clothes and flatten down his brown curls, his yellow eyes are wide from shock. Skin crawling he could still feel hands on him and he couldn’t believe that man that he trusted the most - the man he loved the most - his own father could do that to him.
Bending over Atreyu throws up on the grass covered dirt that is quickly turning into mud, his eyes burning as he empties the contents of his dinner from his stomach and is left dry heaving and coughing. Resting a red hand against the surface of the trunk of a tree, the imp attempts to pull himself together, taking a few minutes to do so as he stares at the ground. Horrified and his mind reeling with a million questions that he didn’t have the answer too. Then through it all - some clarity as he realizes he needs to find some shelter for the night; there was no way he was ever going home again. Stepping in the opposite direction of where he vomited, Atreyu heads further into the woods, stepping over fallen limbs praying not to be struck by lightning as it strikes down from the rumbling skies. The clothes he wore were now clinging to Atreyu’s skin, wet and cold making him tremble more than he was before, his teeth chattering as he searched desperately. The woods open up a little and there an old wooden cabin stands providing salvation at last. Picking up his pace with his bare feet, Atreyu runs to the cabin and goes around the side looking for the front door. Quietly hoping the door was unlocked he reaches out to the door knob and turns it all the way and gives the door a push, it swings open with a creak. Stepping inside, the male imp closes the door behind him, swishing his red and black tipped tail and moving his drenched hair behind his pointed ears.
An acrid scent of rot over takes Atreyu’s sense of smell and he makes a sound of disgust as he covers his nose and mouth to mute the smell. Hoping he could just get rid of whatever it was so that he could stay there the night, he steps further into the cabin, searching for whatever it was that was emitting the smell and steps into the living room of the cabin.
The wind and the plant life had warned him earlier in the evening that one hell of a storm was coming. Normally storms didn't bother the fae, but when your borrowed legs were rotting off, there was no way they could take on any water.
He had nothing on him but his spandex shorts that just gave him some coverage, and a messenger bag he'd managed to hang around his neck, back when he'd borrowed some arms. Though those arms had long since fallen off. Those were much harder to keep in place once they had gone bad.
Amin had found himself a cabin, a little worse for wear, but it would at least be enough for now. He stumbled his way inside, having to lean against the walls with what little stumps he had for arms to keep himself from completely falling over. He knew his legs would fail him sooner or later, but he'd hoped he'd have a little more time. He honestly didn't make it very far before he collapsed onto the floor.
He managed to roll himself onto his back, removing the vines from the legs that he'd been using to puppet them, absorbing them back into his body. There was no point in staying attached to something that no longer served him. There he lay for quiet some time, attempting to get some rest, even if he couldn't actually fall asleep. Sleep felt impossible these days. He was far too worried what stragglers were left of the occultists would find him.
When the fae heard the door, he flinched. Shit. What the fuck was he going to do? He was weak. He was tired. He knew there was no way to fight and win against anyone in his sorry state. He could barely move. If he had a heart, it would be pounding in his chest.
All he could do was watch the entryway into the living room, eyes wide. Was this it? Had they found him?
When they came into view, even in the poor light and one good eye, he could tell they weren't human. At least he knew he wasn't one of the men chasing after him. He stood a chance with a stranger.
"Don't move... any further." The fae warned in the loudest whisper he could manage.
The thing that greeted him was far from being a person, its arms were missing and the legs that hung from the lower part of the body rotted, which is where the smell had come from.
