errm hhi have a tetro rant!!!! it's not about the recent drama but i do acknowledge this and i hope everyone's doing alright!! trigger warning: okazaki and all of the themes surrounding her
i genuinely hate okazaki SO MUCH. i don't have too many strong opinions on stuff in tetro but this is one of them.
like, all the fanarts of her are absolutely fire so i heart them anyway but every time i see an 'okazaki is so silly' comment or something i actually crash out. i feel like the extent of her actions is often downplayed in the fandom and it really gets on my nerves 🥲
i know she apparently has an interesting backstory on staffside but i am a studentside enjoyer not a staffside enjoyer and from this perspective she is being glazed wildly without much justification. it feels like it's often forgotten or disregarded that she:
-exploited hasegawa's mental state
-literally tortured kamimura for some rivalry nobody cares about
-stalked tsuno for some rivalry nobody cares about
-brutally murdered tsuno for some rivalry nobody cares about
-forced ninomiya to sleep in a dog cage
-forced ninomiya to have chocolate despite him being diabetic
-likely did much worse to ninomiya, see his student interview, there's probably more we don't even know about yet and there's probably more that i missed out
-arguably was one of the main contributors to watari's suicide
-set off a gun during a trial to trigger kamimura's cataplexy? and faced like no consequences for this? as far as i remember? wtf?
and then there's all these posts like 'yeah she did all that idc free my girl' or 'silly blorbo with 82838 murder charges' or whatever like NO!!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!! IF THIS WAS A GUY SO MANY MORE PEOPLE WOULD BE ENRAGED!!! AGGGHHHHH!!!
everything that happened to her will never excuse her actions for me, i don't care how interesting she is, i don't care how in depth she is, i am the #1 okazaki hanano hater, i will hate her until the day i die
i'm sorry if this offends anyone i just need to get it off my chest i HATE how well liked she still is while characters like tamba get hate for?? being scared?? in a death game?? and if i'm being biased, no hate to the okazaki fans, it just realllyyy ticks me off :(
(side note: the okazaki artists always create the most fire most amazing art of her too and i'm stuck between being like 'oh err it's okazaki...' and 'WHAT THE FUCK THAT'S SO COOL REPOST REPOST REPOST!!!')
