I am back!
Sorry, I have been away for so long! I had to take some time out to focus on my education. Anywho, I am back to give you the latest poker news so here it goes. As you may have heard, the first, legal, real-money poker hand was dealt on April 30, 2013 at 9am PST. Unfortunately, if you don't live in the state of Nevada, it doesn't matter. BLACK FRIDAY continues for those of us who live in states that have not approved online gaming. I think it's really sad that we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave and cannot sit in the comfort of our own homes and play poker in our underwear. What kind of freedom is that! If poker is going to be legalized in the US, poker players must band together and elect officials that will make this happen. If you have any additional comments, please post them. I would love to get your feed back.
Look at the check I received from playing poker. It is in the amount of $100. I cashed out a portion of my bankroll to show how funny looking the checks are from the United Oversees Bank in Singapore. It came to day via DHL carrier. Pretty cool
In The Money
Tonight I played in a $1500 Guarantee and placed 5th, cashing for $103. I only invested $7, which makes for a hellava return! The tourney lasted four hours. I strayed away from one of my rules and felt the pain of that. (I will reveal my secrets soon.) Anywho, I am excited. It beats playing on club WPT, of which I shall be canceling my membership. Time to build up my poker bankroll again. 'Til next time...
Bovada.lv is Amazing!
Today I entered into to a $1500 Guarantee on Bovada Poker. This poker site is amazing. In a previous post, I said that I was a bit leery. However, to my surprise, Bovada Poker is truly an amazing site. Today I placed 11th in the tourney for a prize of $35. I know that is not much; however, I went on tilt from $110K, the rest was history. I got completely distracted. Lesson learned...If you want to do well at poker, do not do it in a house full of rabid children...lol...'Til Next Time.
Bodog to Rebrand as Bovada (as in Bodog + Nevada = Bovada)
I just read on PokerNews.com that Bodog will no longer be operating under the its current brand. The name change has already taken place and will be Bovada. Currently, Bodog is still accepting U.S. players. For the year of 2011, they have increased their traffic by 70%. However, I am still not too keen about playing on this site. I have read other reports to hold of on playing at this site for now. I wonder if it is due to this transition. The word on the street is that the name change to "Bovada" is in preparation for the legalization of online poker in the state of Nevada. STAY TUNED...

Nevada To Issue Online Poker Licenses In 2012
According to the chairman of the Nevada Gaming Board, they will be seeking to issue licenses to those that qualify for them in the state of Nevada. This move by the Nevada Gaming Board may be exactly what online poker needs in order to provoke other states to follow suite in the quest for online poker. I am particularly excited about this news, because online poker is not only a passion of mine, it is a stream of income that I could not obtain any other way. As a former financial advisor turned pre-med student, online poker offers me a way to generate a solid income on my own terms. Congress wake up! Online poker is a $16 Billion a year industry. Let us help you pay down the deficit by making online poker legal. One of the things that behooves me is the fact that people can play the lottery, or buy into Madden-type of tournaments; however, tournament poker is seen as an illegal sport. Tournament poker is a sport. Get this through your thick skulls Congress. Poker is the new American past time, and it's high time you guys move legislation in our direction. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave. Show us this truth by making online poker legal. By all means, ante up legislation to make online poker legal.
