Awesome
Guys, Can we talk about your shaving cream?
So I've looked at the ingredients in popular shaving cream brands and broken them down. What I found was that they are full of fillers, coating ingredients, alcohols, fragrances, artificial dyes and flammable skin irritants. There was not one ingredient that would help your skin or make your face feel nice. Why you would want to put these things on your face is beyond me, since shaving hurts to begin with and you're doing it daily. So why not use something better, something beneficial to your skin and that aids in your daily shaving process? So I did some more research and I found Twin Luxe. A high end Men's skin care line complete with, A Shaving Cream.
Their Smooth Shave Cream has humectants which draw the moisture from inside of the skin and hold it on the surface for a better feel. It also has things like Sodium Hyaluronate which is cousin to Hyaluronic Acid, which holds up to 1,000 times it weight in water, so it's extremely moisturizing. Shea Butter for even more moisture and protection. Horse Chestnut Seed Extract which is a natural astringent, a sunburn protective and an anti-inflammatory. Willow Bark Extract which is an antiseptic as well as a few other ingredients that have wound healing properties. Which we know you need on that occasional instance where you nick yourself. White Tea which is an antioxidant as well as, tons of conditioners and an organic acid which gives it an amazing lather. It also has no artificial dyes and a natural, gentle lily fragrance.
I've tried this on my own face, just for you. A teeny-tiny bit goes a long way. About a dime size amount will cover your entire beard. It's water activated so once you've applied it add a little bit of water for copious amounts of later. Shave once with the grain, splash your face with a little more water and rub in a circular motion. This will reactivate the shaving cream and you can the shave again against the grain, pain free, for a closer gentler shave.
Everything about this product makes sense to me compared to your typical three dollar chemical can, especially since it's actually beneficial to the sensitive skin underneath your beard. Your typical can of shaving cream will last you about a month if you're lucky. This tub of shaving cream from twin luxe will last you about three months because its so concentrated. It may cost a bit more, but you're worth it, so give it a shot. You won't be disappointed and neither will your face.
CcC
Cetyl Alcohol
This is an emollient and emulsion stabilizer and is used in almost all cosmetics. It is a fatty alcohol that prevents creams and cleansers from separating and gives them a silky feeling on the skin
Cc
Ceramides
These are a naturally occurring skin fats which have barrier properties in the skin. Limiting loss of water and solutes and at the same time preventing the entrance of harmful substances by reinforcing the skins natural barrier. Some ceramides can be extracted from plants such as sunflowers and cranberries. Synthetic fatty alcohols are used in conditioners and lotions.
C
Caffeine
Used as a stimulant in lipsticks and eye creams, to aid ingredients to penetrate the skin, and to stimulate the skin. It is a central nervous system, heart, and respiratory system stimulant when ingested. Caffeine flushes away excess fluid by increasing blood flow. Its also common in cellulite creams because it offers a temporary tightening effect.
BbBb
Butyl Alcohol
A colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor, used as a clarifying ingredient in shampoos also a solvent for waxes, fats, resins, and shellac. It is know to cause irritation of the mucous membranes, headaches, dizziness, and drowsiness. I would recommend avoiding this ingredient in your products at all costs, being there is no benefit to it.
BbB
Bisabolol
Derived from Chamomile it is an anti-irritant and has been used for centuries to soothe and repair skin.
Bb
Beta Hydroxy Acids
Like Alpha Hydroxy Acids, these chemicals loosen dead skin cells. The main difference is that Beta Hydroxy Acids, such as salicylic acid can penetrate clogged pores and therefore are helpful in treating and preventing acne. As well as being effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improving overall skin texture without the occasional irritation of Alpha Hydroxy Acids.
B
Benzoyl Peroxide
An antiseptic acne fighter, it kills pimple causing bacteria, helps clear clogged pores, and reduces inflammation. It can also be used as a bleaching ingredient in some cosmetics. High concentrations can cause irritation or dryness. Because of is potential for allergic reactions and irritations, Canada does not allow it for use in cosmetics intended to be applied on the skin.
AaAaA
Avobenzone
An oil soluble ingredient used in sunscreens to absorb the full spectrum of UVA rays. Its ability to absorb ultraviolet light over a wider range of wavelengths than many organic sunscreen agents has led to its use in many "broad spectrum" sunscreens. Avobenzone has been known to degrade significantly in light, resulting in less protection over time. The UVA light in a day of sunlight in a temperate climate is sufficient to break down most of the compound. So reapply your sunscreen, often. As well as buy a new tube at least once a month, especially if your sunscreen is left in the heat.

Argireline
This peptide is marketed as "botox in a cream" because of its apparent ability to temporaily prevent tensing of local facial muscles.
Argireline, also known as acetyl hexapeptide-3, works in the biological pathways of the skin cells by mimicking and destabilizing the receptors essential for muscle contraction. It also acts to inhibit or slow the release the excessive catecholamine, which are a group of self-made chemicals such as neurotransmitters and hormones and are involved in the regulation of blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tone, metabolism, and central nervous system functions.
That being said, any anti-wrinkle cream you purchase with this ingredient in it will be more beneficial to your skin than any product that does not have acetyl hexapeptide-3 in it. So go for it, and get one for mom too.

Antioxidants
Everyone thinks of an antioxidant as a chemical compound that helps to destroy free radicals, which are unstable molecules that are created in the body by sunlight, smoke, and pollution. This isn't the case. An antioxidant is simply an ingredient used to prevent the rest of the ingredients in your products from oxidizing. Which is simply the combination of a substance with oxygen, which make the products yellow or harden making them less potent and less attractive over time.
Antioxidants are simply a preservative that prevents fats from spoiling. Examples of these would be Tocoplerols, simply Vitamin E, and Butylated Hydroxyanisole, a widely used preservative thats known to cause allergic reactions.

Amino Acids They are the building blocks of the proteins that make up the collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are responsible for giving the skin its structural support. Aging and a combination of external factors, such as UV light and environmental toxins, reduce the level of amino acids in the body.
A
Alpha Hydroxy Acid A chemical that loosens the fluid that binds surface skin cells together, allowing dead cells to be removed. Build up on the skin becomes denser as we age, slowing down the natural cell turn over process that reveals younger, shinier, glowing skin. This makes AHAs a useful ingredient for anti aging creams and cleansers.
Face Shape Mania!
A pear-shaped face, also known as a triangular face, is long with a prominent cheek and jaw line. Short hairstyles can be challenging for this face shape because longer hair can disguise some of the jaw width. You can, however, work shorter hair well; all you have to do is work out a short crop that will give the top of your head some width and create an equal balance. Another way to pull off this look is to create longer layers in the front to frame your face better.
Choppy Bob
A short, sharp, choppy bob may be just what the style doctor ordered. With a thick and prominent jaw line you need a style that will distract from your chin and elongate your face. This will, in turn, create a slimmer face shape. Go for a choppy bob that falls just below your jaw. Try a wispy side fringe with this style and ensure that your layers are sharp and defined. This is a messy look and so is easy to manage.
Blunt Bang Crop
A blunt-bang crop has been made famous by the ultra chic effortlessly elegant Anna Wintour. That harsh straight band and sleek cropped bob gives her a smart look with little effort. This cut will keep its shape; all you will have to do is brush and go. This is best suited if your hair is thick. Try this style but with a little extra length to avoid highlighting your jaw line. Also allow it to encroach on your face, slimming and disguising the fullness of your cheeks.
Layered Pixie
A layered pixie is the ideal short do for your triangular face. Go for a spiky textured version as opposed to a sleek, smooth finish. Definitely go for a long side bang. Allow it to reach your cheek. Allow the front layers to be equally as long. This will frame your face and highlight your eyes. This style is also deliberately messy and is easy to maintain.
Assymetric Bob
A chic assymetric bob will help even out your fuller jaw. Allow the front layers to reach beyond your chin. Ensure that the back is a stark contrast and stops well short of the nape of your neck. You can easily work this classic edgy look made famous by the likes of Victoria Beckham and Rhianna. Add a little color to help highlight and frame your face. A far side part works best with this style.
Face Shape Mania!
If you have a heart-shaped face or an inverted triangle-shaped face, your face is longer than it is wide. Your jawline is long and pointed, and is the narrowest part of your face.
Chin-length bob
If you love short hair, try a chin-length bob with tapered ends. It shows off your fabulous cheekbones while offsetting your pointy chin. Heart-shaped faces can also wear longer bobs, but avoid those that are above chin level.
Sideswept, wispy bangs
Whether you're wearing your hair long or short, draw the attention away from your wide forehead and toward the eyes with sideswept, wispy bangs. These look fabulous with long, wavy hair, shoulder-length modified bobs and even pixie cuts.
Don't emphasize the crown
Hairstyles that have too much height at the crown will make your face look top-heavy and your chin look even narrower. Avoid slicked-back ponytails, too; they're too harsh for your delicate chin.
