On his daily walks, Claus tends to repeat the same paths over and over again.ย He makes it a point to avoid the more civilized parts of the worldโ and formerly civilized parts, too.ย Though most of the buildings built by the Pigmasks had long since been abandoned, who knew what was lurking in those places now.ย He was guessing plenty of Chimeras found nesting there, far from any of the humans living in their towns, encroaching on what was originally untouched nature.
But there was good reason to take the detour today, as much as Claus didnโt like going near these places.ย The Chimera Lab was abandoned a long time ago, but Dr. Andonuts seemed to think that there may be something of use left somewhere in the building.ย He wasnโt even specificย about what he wanted, just that he wanted Claus to look for him lest they find something useful inside.
He didnโt like snooping around the outside, let along going in to investigate, but Claus will do it anyways.ย Itโll be a quick in and out, and thatโs it.ย If Dr. A wants something more thorough, he can look himself.ย He was just as familiar with the labs as Claus was, after all, just not as physically capable nor half as willing to even try to investigate.
Claus creeps through the halls of the old building.ย Itโs dark, really dark, aside from what light the windows allow in.ย Inspecting that surgery room, there doesnโt seem to be much in there aside from destroyed equipment and broken jars.ย He kneels down to check the bottom compartment of a cabinet and a Flying Mouse darts out, scampering around the tiled floor.
It catches him off guard enough to make him jump and so Claus takes a deep breath.ย He glances behind him and catches sight of a figure at the doorway of the room, and Claus scrambles to his feet, flipping around to face the other.ย Then, he freezes.ย Just freezes up.ย Thatโฆ no, that canโt beโ
He looks young, way too youngโ and shouldnโt he be in the capsule andโ and he shouldnโt be here, shouldnโt be able to find Clausโ
Claus doesnโt speak, doesnโt move, doesnโt do anything except stare blankly at himโ at Master Porky.
Porky was used to the silence of the building by now. It had long since been abandoned after the dragon had awoken and changed the world back to its former state, left where it was to slowly overgrow and become a shelter for the chimeras that still resided in the area. From what he had seen of the area so far, no humans typically strayed in unless curiosity dragged them. So hearing the tell-tale sounds of footsteps resounding throughout the building certainly had the Kingโs interest piqued.
Hands ever so casually placed in the pockets of his suit pants, the blond paced quietly throughout the building after the sound. Perhaps if he were quiet enough, he could go unnoticed and likely ambush the person, if only using the chimeras milling about to his desires. The person, whoever it was, seemed awful cautious though, so Porky needed to keep his distance from them in order to not be detected.
And oh, what a surprise it was once he finally laid eyes upon the intruder.
A smirk tugging at the corners of his lips, Master Porky made his way to the doorway to the room the familiar figure had slipped into, and waited. It didnโt take too long at least, as the sudden dash of a Flying Mouse had startled them enough to finally glance back.
Once he knew heโd been noticed, the King brought a hand up closer to himself and cleared his throat.ย โLong time no see, Commander.โ His voice was so similar to how Claus was likely used to as well, minus the weakness in his breathing. It was just as gripey and annoying as to be expected.
Porky couldnโt help but grin wider at the boyโs shock.
