To start, for film mine is Sinister (2012) directed by Scott Derrickson and The Substance (2024) directed by Coralie Fargeat. For written stories, my favs are "The Tell-Tale Heart" (1843) by Edgar Allan Poe and About A Place in The Kinki Region (2023) by Sesuji. For tv shows, The Haunting of Hill House (2018) created by Mike Flanagan.

THIISSSS!!! To add, the factor of religion in all of this: while god, heaven, hell, etc. is typically seen in the practices of christianity. In this new universe, there is no god. What religion doesn’t actually follow or worship an immortal almighty god? Buddhism. In Buddhism, they believe in rebirth, where there is a continuous stream of consciousness that carries over to one’s next life, that is shaped by one’s past actions. Asa and Anthony is made and shaped by that 6,000 years they lived. IT’S THEM STILL!!!!!
