Kevin: you know I am so glad being apart this community. Yes, there is some healthy competition, but we all get along. Everyone we have played with are very nice and have a lot of sportsmanship.
Neil: *grabs mic* except Riko. he can choke.
We did it. We’re finally free.
Nothing to see here, just a street corner in New Orleans…..
This is The Violin Monster and he’s really cool. You should all look him up on Facebook. He’s the most talented violinist I have ever met, and he’s super sweet and friendly. He also teaches violin to kids. His back story is he’s a 400+ year old werewolf from Galway, Ireland who plays violin to quell his hunger for human flesh. I forget the details of how he became a werewolf, but I think it had something to do with a deal he made with a witch.
Story time: so one day I actually had spending money, so for funsies I kept putting money in his jack-o-lantern (that’s what his tip bucket is) requesting Scotch-Irish folk songs, and he didn’t just play every song he PLAYED them like he was in a music battle with the Faery King. I was quite impressed. Later, I ran into him, mask-off, at Café Envie and I told him “That was really cool, but you still didn’t play my favorite song ‘The King of the Faeries,’ do you not know it?” and Violin Monster looked around and over his shoulder, and then leaned over me and said in a hushed tone: “Oh I know it, but it’s bad luck to play that song. They say if you play it three times the Faery King himself will appear. So I don’t play that song anymore.” And then he smiled and walked away.
I don’t think Zach is just one of those performers who never breaks character, I think he’s actually summoned faeries by accident with his amazing music.
The man KNOWS
am i getting too real for snapchat y/y
YES like this is what ppl don’t get, i work my main job @ an assisted living using my CNA license and even tho it’s “grosser” work, i don’t feel degraded doing it. my other job is at a restaurant, and boy oh boy is it degrading and dehumanizing, even tho it’s “clean, easy work” (i answer phones for takeout/delivery orders). constantly being treated as less than human by customers takes its toll, its exhausting.
Be polite to service workers and treat them like real humans. Please.
Please, please! If I had a dollar for every time I’ve been treated like an automaton or a machine that dispenses things for you, I could retire now. People who refuse to get off their phones, people who just grunt and snap and point at things for me to get, people who just flat-out ignore anything I ask and then get mad when I “didn’t offer to help them”. We’re not expecting you to be our best friends for life, but at least treat us like people.
This. All of this. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve asked someone how they are, greeted them good morning and was just ignored.
I get it. People are busy. And I do take into account that a certain percentage might not be able to hear me, because this is a problem I have personally. But yeah.
These kinds of posts always make me anxious as fuck. Cause I have no idea how to interact with customer service people in a way that is socially appropriate enough that they might not project things onto me. I don’t understand. I usually might not respond to someone or respond with a quick, clipped answer, and I don’t smile and might have a “rude” look on my face. I can’t help it. And thinking that because of these things the people I’m interacting with are judging me and thinking bad things about me just because I didn’t respond to them in exactly the way they expect me to does nothing to help my fucked as all hell social anxiety that keeps me from interacting with people in an easier way. Like.
See, this is the way I see it. If I ask a question and you completely ignore it or talk over me and are just terrible and dismissive and look down your nose at me, that’s where I’m like “what the fuck why would you do this”. This is different from not giving a socially appropriate answer, or not answering quickly enough, or being short with me. Those things I understand, and I don’t think you’re being rude.
I’m talking about an interaction that goes like this…
Me: Good morning! Your total is $3.18
Customer: (chatting on their phone in the drive thru, digs through their wallet, finally presents card after about a full minute, doesn’t look at me, doesn’t interact with me at all, ignores me)
Me (after swiping their card): Thank you! Have a great day!
Or alternately,
Me : Good afternoon! Your total —
Customer (cuts me off): You don’t have a clue what I was asking for, and my order is totally wrong. (Launches into a 3 minute diatribe into why all fast food workers are “fucking idiots” and then goes on to add three more things to their order and complains about the price, all while telling their teenage child that they better go to college to avoid such a fate).
Me: All right, thanks! Have a nice day!
Customer: Fuck you, bitch.
Another scenario…
Me: Hi! Good morning! Did you have the three happy meals?
Customer: (shoves card in my face)
Me: I’m sorry, was your order the three happy meals?
Customer: (glares at me for a moment). Yeeeeessssss. (said very slowly).
Me: (swipes card and then hands it back.. customer yanks it out of my hand, and in turn drops the receipt I’ve handed them with the card). Thank you. Have a nice —
Customer: (has already driven off or closed their window)
I hope you can see the difference between giving a short, clipped answer and be willfully rude and ignoring that we’re, you know, people? Yes, a small percentage of people will be socially anxious or autistic or otherwise have social interaction issues, and some will be HOH or deaf, and there is a HUGE difference between treating me like subhuman garbage and saying the wrong thing.
imagine the movie grease but with lesbians
imagine every movie but with lesbians
i like the way you think. you’re hired.
Gay morning
Now you may not realize this but there’s a joke in here! I switched out the word good for gay. Usually the expression is “good morning”. Hahaha. We love to have fun here
my mom has a friend who has a failed program-service dog and he’s literally my favorite creature
He’s a really smart lab, he learned all the commands, but he just has an affinity for doing them whenever he wants
So this lady’s dog literally turns on-off lights, opens doors, opens the fridge, etc… at his own wishes.
Her house looks like its baby-proofed, with kid safe locks on everything and stuff, but really she just has a dog that’s learned all the mobility service dog commands but has a mind of his own.
Chaotic Good Boy

Chris and Anna Smith, who are poised to open the first safe house in the United States for sex trafficked boys, didn’t set out to be trailblazers. They founded their Christian ministry, Restore One, in 2012, hoping to open a facility for girls in ...
First Home in the U.S. specifically for sex-trafficked boys is set to open in late 2016. Of course neighbors pulled a stink and tried to get the house shut down before it even opened.
The founders are still trying to take donations to help cover maintenance costs. You can find more information about this ministry and donate here.
OOOOH THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR MANY REASONS
Excellent
I CANNOT believe how much resistance they’re facing.
People are worried about their property values when these young boys have literally been sold as sex slaves and raped and abused in who knows how many other ways. They just need a safe place to heal and protection while they testify against their abusers so we can put the actual criminals in prison.
And people are worried about them “taking their medicine” like we’re trying to cure them of something. These are trafficking victims. But apparently people are more worried about these boys than they are about making sure the people who abused them go to prison.
Oh man, as soon as I get a little extra money I’ll be donating to this fine cause because this is just fucking great. I hate all the shit they’re getting for it, but shit or no shit I want to support these people.
This is very important
I love that every few months this post gets another surge of notes, and now is good a time as any to give an update.
In late Fall last year, the area of North Carolina where this house is set to be opened experienced a lot of very bad flooding. This has set them back. They wanted to be open by now, but they have finished restoring the house and are now working on furnishing it so they can open soon.
The link above is broken, so here is an updated one. You can see they now have a registry for Target and Walmart open. If you want to donate by buying items they need to furnish it, you can do so this way.
You can also make a donation or become a monthly partner here.
This is the best edit, folks. Everyone go home
