More tea leaf divination knowledge. Take notes.
It’s not very strange that people can’t find the clitoris when they can’t even find the blinkers in a car.
One of the most iconic TV characters of all time
Weekend Update | SNL | Sept. 30th 2018
Birthed in this world I knew shortly you would come,
That clearly this ride was meant for more than one.
Years, miles, and many failed plans later, yet the seat is empty.
There have been passengers, people that have come along.
Friends, family, and almost lovers.
But the seat wasn't theirs.
I kept the space for you.
I made sure your seat was reserved,
But you never showed.
Many hours I sat wondering if this seat will ever be taken,
Would this love, this call to romance I feel ever be satiated.
So many lesser people found love,
But why is it so lonely up here where the desire to impact history matters?
I clearly have miscalculated,
And somehow I didn't see the cost of the greatness I desire.
Maybe it was presumptuous to believe such a big heart was meant to be shared,
To be given to only one,
That it could ever have that intimate a value.
Those musings were years ago.
Now the seat isn't sacred, and your arrival isn't expected.
Whysave the seat for someone that never shows,
A phantom of dead hopes and dreams?
No, I won't save the seat anymore.
There is too much life to be lived,
Too much work to be done so that the world is better.
Besides that now it's where I keep my books.
So if a Fuckor is when someone makes an assumption about you that is 100% correct but you really hate that they were able to expose you so easily
What’s the opposite of that should be called?
I mean when someone make an assumption about you that’s so wrong you’re very confused as to how the fuck they ever could come to this conclusion
how about “contrafuckor”
I’ll take it
New ask game : make assumptions about me and I’ll reply with either “Fuckor” or “Contrafuckor”
How to make anything you do sound suspicious.
Be mostly specific.
I.e. “Yes. I bought this with legal, tender, money that was acquired legally.”
“I met with a friend who is alive.”
“I went to the still standing, not-burned home of my enemies.”
“I was in Wisconsin and 12 when Princess Diana and her lover Dodi Al-Fayed were killed in Paris. You can feel the T.V., it’s warm.”
So this is a thing because of Grice’s maxims (which are also a big part of why night vale works). Grice’s maxims are a set of guidelines for how people choose what to say when they are communicating cooperatively (i.e. neither party is actively trying to mislead the other).
The maxims are:
Only say things you know, or have good evidence to believe, are true.
Don’t provide too little information, but don’t provide too much. Be Goldilocks.
Be relevant.
Speak in a sensible way (don’t use words that are more obscure than needed, don’t be too ambiguous, don’t use too many words, don’t use overly complicated syntax)
So, when in the first few examples the person gives extra information that would normally be simply taken for granted to be try (that legal tender was used in the purchase, that the friend being visited is alive, that the house is still standing) it seems to violate the second maxim by giving more information than is necessary, that is, unless those previously tacit facts are now relevant. The only reason they’d be relevant would be if one of the two parties thought, for whatever reason, the object was purchased with counterfeit money, the friend was dead, or the house burnt down; as the reader we know we don’t (or at least didn’t) think that, so our brains decide that the person saying it is trying to mislead us but, because they’re so used to cooperative communication, are giving away their lie. It then makes us assume that the extra information we’re given is false.
This is an important thing for writers to be aware of when their characters lie. A bad liar will still try to fit Grice’s maxims as best as possible given their knowledge whilst maintaining the lie (and so, in this case, giving extra information that would not otherwise be necessary), a middling liar will disregard Grice’s maxims altogether (and so communicate strangely, lying by omission, or going off on tangents), whilst an expert liar will still hold to Grice’s maxims but apply them as if they had no knowledge of whatever the subject of the lie is; their speech will appear cooperative, but will actually be deliberately misleading.

if you had to describe me as

My super advanced mapmaking technique - a handful of dice makes the map nice
interesting method
My question is do the die affect topography any or just set the borders?
I imagine it’s up to the person making the map. But maybe the more dice in a single spot, the more mountainous or forested the area. Maybe choose a few dice to be deemed cities, and some dice for ruins.
Maybe let the dice choose, like a nat 20 would be the world capital, and 10’s would be mountains or something like that.
1-5: Plains and fields
6-8: Forests
9-11: Mountains
12-14: Tundras and snow covered lands
15-17: Farms and towns
18-19: Larger cities
20: Capitals and castles
what would happing if all the dice landed on a 20?
then you have a very busy continent
not all of those are d20s though, so you’d have to come up with another method for the other ones
Adjusted for all dice you might have
D20
